"Find me cards equivalent to: Chancellor of the Dross"

Cards equivalent to Chancellor of the Dross (Black, Creature — Vampire/Phyrexian, Flying, lifelink, opponent life loss on reveal/opening hand, or similar):
1. Chancellor of the Dross (as requested)
2. Chancellor of the Annex (White—same reveal mechanic)
3. Ob Nixilis, the Fallen (Black—life loss, but landfall, not reveal)
4. Alms of the Vein (Black—life drain, spells, not a creature)
5. Vampire Nighthawk (Black—flying, lifelink, but no reveal/trigger)
6. Gonti, Lord of Luxury (Black—trigger, but ETB and not same effect)

Closest true equivalents in black are Chancellor of the Annex for reveal effect (in white), and Vampire Nighthawk for flying, lifelink, but no direct black creature exactly matches all attributes. The reveal/life-loss mechanic is unique in mono-black to Chancellor of the Dross.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Madness

    Rules

  • A card with madness that's discarded counts as having been discarded even though it's put into exile rather than a graveyard. If it was discarded to pay a cost, that cost is still paid. Abilities that trigger when a card is discarded will still trigger.
  • A spell cast for its madness cost is put onto the stack like any other spell. It can be countered, copied, and so on. As it resolves, it's put onto the battlefield if it's a permanent card or into its owner's graveyard if it's an instant or sorcery card.
  • Cards are discarded in a Magic game only from a player's hand. Effects that put cards into a player's graveyard from anywhere else do not cause those cards to be discarded.
  • Casting a spell with madness ignores the timing rules based on the card's card type. For example, you can cast a sorcery with madness if you discard it during an opponent's turn.
  • If you choose not to cast a card with madness when the madness triggered ability resolves, it's put into your graveyard. Madness doesn't give you another chance to cast it later.
  • If you discard a card with madness to pay the cost of a spell or activated ability, that card's madness triggered ability (and the spell that card becomes, if you choose to cast it) will resolve before the spell or ability the discard paid for.
  • If you discard a card with madness while a spell or ability is resolving, it moves immediately to exile. Continue resolving that spell or ability, noting that the card you discarded is not in your graveyard at this time. Its madness triggered ability will be placed onto the stack once that spell or ability has completely resolved.
  • Madness works independently of why you're discarding the card. You could discard it to pay a cost, because a spell or ability tells you to, or because you have too many cards in your hand during your cleanup step. You can't discard a card with madness just because you want to, though.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a madness cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined by only its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast that spell was.

    Rules

  • If you reveal more than one Chancellor of the Annex from your opening hand, each will trigger when an opponent casts their first spell of the game. That player will have to pay {1} that many times or the spell will be countered.
  • In a multiplayer game, if you reveal Chancellor of the Annex from your opening hand, it will trigger each time an opponent casts their first spell of the game.
  • A player’s “opening hand” is the hand of cards the player has after all players have taken mulligans. If players have any cards in hand that allow actions to be taken with them from a player’s opening hand, the starting player takes all such actions first in any order, followed by each other player in turn order. Then the first turn begins.

    Deathtouch

    Rules

  • An effect that instructs you to "cast" a card doesn't allow you to play lands.
  • Casting the card causes it to leave exile. You can't cast it multiple times.
  • Gonti doesn't change when you can cast the exiled card. For example, if you exile a creature card without flash, you can cast it only during your main phase when the stack is empty.
  • If you leave the game, the card remains exiled face down indefinitely. No player may look at it.
  • You may look at and cast that card (and spend mana as though it were mana of any type to do so) even if Gonti leaves the battlefield. If another player gains control of Gonti, that player can't look at or cast the card, and you still can.
  • You pay the costs for the exiled card if you cast it. You may pay alternative costs such as emerge rather than the card's mana cost.
  • The six types of mana are white, blue, black, red, green, and colorless. Snow mana is not a type of mana. Gonti, Lord of Luxury won't let you pay a snow cost using mana produced by a nonsnow source.

  • Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of the permanents you control will trigger. You can put them   on the stack in any order.
