"Find me cards equivalent to: Labyrinth Guardian"

Equivalent white cards to Labyrinth Guardian with similar attributes (token, illusion, fragile to targeting) are rare. Labyrinth Guardian itself is blue, not white, so white equivalents are hard to find. The closest is:

  • Knight of the White Orchid (not fragile to spells, but white and a warrior)
  • Illusionary Angel (blue illusion, not white)
  • Martyr for the Cause (white, sacrifices on death)

No direct white version exists matching all your criteria. Labyrinth Guardian is unique for blue.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • Knight of the White Orchid's triggered ability has an “intervening ‘if' clause.” That means (1) the ability won't trigger at all unless any one of your opponents controls more lands than you, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control at least as many lands as each of your opponents by the time it resolves.
  • The Plains you search for doesn't have to be basic. For example, you could put a Sacred Foundry onto the battlefield.

    Embalm

    Rules

  • Aura spells you cast target the permanent they will enchant.
  • For each card with embalm, a corresponding game play supplement token can be found in some Amonkhet booster packs. These supplements are not required to play with cards with embalm; you can use the same items to represent an embalmed token as you would any other token.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original card and nothing else. It doesn't copy any information about the object the card was before it was put into your graveyard.
  • The token is a Zombie in addition to its other types and is white instead of its other colors. It has no mana cost, and thus its mana value is 0. These are copiable values of the token that other effects may copy.
  • You'll sacrifice Labyrinth Guardian even if you counter the spell that targets it. If that spell has no other targets, it'll be countered when it tries to resolve.
  • If a spell or ability puts a creature card with embalm into your graveyard during your main phase, you'll have priority immediately after that spell or ability resolves. You can activate the creature card's embalm ability before any player can exile it with an effect, such as that of Crook of Condemnation, if it's legal for you to do so.
  • Once you've activated an embalm ability, the card is immediately exiled. Opponents can't try to stop the ability by exiling the card with an effect such as that of Crook of Condemnation.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Proliferate

    Rules

  • If another creature with a +1/+1 counter on it is dealt lethal damage at the same time as Martyr for the Cause, the triggered ability can't proliferate a +1/+1 counter on the other creature in time to save it.
  • An ability that triggers "Whenever you proliferate" triggers even if you chose no permanents or players while doing so.
  • If a permanent ever has both +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters on it at the same time, they're removed in pairs as a state-based action so that the permanent has only one of those kinds of counters on it.
  • If a player or permanent has more than one kind of counter on it, and you choose for it to get additional counters, it must get one of each kind of counter it already has. You can't have it get just one kind of counter it already has and not the others.
  • Players can respond to a spell or ability whose effect includes proliferating. Once that spell or ability starts to resolve, however, and its controller chooses which permanents and players will get new counters, it's too late for anyone to respond.
  • To proliferate, you can choose any permanent that has a counter, including ones controlled by opponents. You can choose any player who has a counter, including opponents. You can't choose cards in any zone other than the battlefield, even if they have counters on them.
  • You don't have to choose every permanent or player that has a counter, only the ones you want to add another counter to. Since "any number" includes zero, you don't have to choose any permanents at all, and you don't have to choose any players at all.
