"Find me cards equivalent to: Michelangelo's Technique"

Equivalent cards (all green sorceries that put creature cards from library onto the battlefield, including Michelangelo's Technique):
1. Michelangelo's Technique

  • Unique for its Sneak mechanic and top-8 look.
    2. Collected Company
  • Instant, but very close; looks at top 6, puts up to 2 creatures with mana value 3 or less onto the battlefield.
    3. See the Unwritten
  • Sorcery, looks at top 8, puts a creature onto the battlefield, can put two if you have ferocious.
    4. Genesis Wave
  • Sorcery, reveals cards equal to chosen X, puts any number of permanents with value X or less onto the battlefield.

Reason:
These cards similarly cheat creatures into play from your library and are green. Exact equivalent with total mana value 6 or less and 8-card look is rare; the closest are Collected Company and See the Unwritten.

  • A permanent card is an artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, land, or planeswalker card.
  • All of the permanents put onto the battlefield this way enter at the same time. If any have triggered abilities that trigger on something else entering, they'll see each other.
  • If a card in a player's library has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If a permanent card in your library has no mana symbols in its upper right corner (because it's a land card, for example), its mana value is 0. Such cards can always be put onto the battlefield with Genesis Wave.
  • If you have fewer than X cards in your library, you reveal all of them.
  • You don't have to put permanent cards revealed this way onto the battlefield if you choose not to, regardless of their mana values.

    Sneak

    Rules

  • Although a creature put onto the battlefield this way is attacking, it was never declared as an attacking creature. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks won't trigger when that creature enters attacking.
  • If a card in your library has {X} in its mana cost, X is 0 for the purpose of determining its mana value.
  • If a creature spell's sneak cost was paid, the creature it becomes enters tapped and attacking the same player, planeswalker, or battle as the creature that was returned to its owner's hand to pay its sneak cost. This is a rule specific to sneak; in other cases, when a creature is put onto the battlefield attacking, that creature's controller chooses which player, planeswalker, or battle it's attacking.
  • Spells can only be cast for their sneak costs any time you could play an instant during the declare blockers step on your turn (after your opponent has decided whether to block).

Sneak (You may cast this spell for if you also return an unblocked attacker you control to hand during the declare blockers step.) Look at the top eight cards of your library. Put up to two creature cards with total mana value 6 or less from among them onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

  • Because you’re not casting the creature cards, you can’t pay any additional or alternative costs. You can’t put the cards onto the battlefield face down.
  • Ferocious abilities of instants and sorceries that don’t use the word “instead” will provide an additional effect if you control a creature with power 4 or greater as they resolve.
  • If a card you put onto the battlefield this way has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • Some ferocious abilities that appear on instants and sorceries use the word “instead.” These spells have an upgraded effect if you control a creature with power 4 or greater as they resolve. For these, you only get the upgraded effect, not both effects.
  • You determine whether the ferocious ability applies before any creature cards are put onto the battlefield. If you put two creature cards onto the battlefield this way, those creatures enter the battlefield at the same time.
