"Find me cards equivalent to: Quicksilver Fountain"

Equivalent colorless artifacts to Quicksilver Fountain that change land types include:
1. Contaminated Ground (not colorless, but changes lands, for reference)
2. Mire in Misery (not colorless, for reference)
3. Blood Moon (not colorless, but changes land types, for reference)
4. Spreading Seas (not colorless, but changes land types)
5. Minamo's Meddling (not colorless, changes what lands do)
6. Celestial Dawn (white, changes lands)
7. Magus of the Moon (red, changes lands)

For strictly artifact (colorless) cards that interact with lands similarly, Quicksilver Fountain is unique. The closest options are:

  • Conversion Chamber (not land changing, but interacts with counters)
  • Mycosynth Lattice (makes all permanents artifacts, not exactly land changing)
  • Scarecrone (artifact that interacts with other cards but not specifically with lands)

Summary: Quicksilver Fountain is unique as a colorless artifact that changes land types. No direct colorless artifact equivalents exist that replicate its effect. All other cards that change land types are colored.

  • If a nonbasic land has an ability that causes it to enter the battlefield tapped, it will lose that ability before it can apply. The same is also true of any other abilities that modify how a land enters the battlefield or apply "as" a land enters the battlefield, such as the first ability of Cavern of Souls.
  • If a nonbasic land has an ability that triggers "when" it enters the battlefield, it will lose that ability before it can trigger.
  • Nonbasic lands will lose any other land types and abilities they had. They will gain the land type Mountain and gain the ability "{T}: Add {R}."
  • This effect doesn't affect names or supertypes. It won't turn any land into a basic land or remove the legendary supertype from a legendary land, and the lands won't be named "Mountain."

  • Celestial Dawn does not change the type of lands which are not on the battlefield. Lands not on the battlefield are what they say they are.
  • Celestial Dawn no longer changes mana symbols on cards.
  • If you pay white mana to activate an ability that can only be activated by spending another color of mana, then any limitations on activating the ability (such as the number of times it can be activated each turn) still apply as if you spent the proper color.
  • The effect to turn all your non-land cards (including artifacts) white is the effect of a static ability. Thus, a color change on a permanent prior to Celestial Dawn entering the battlefield will be overridden by Celestial Dawn's effect.
  • Will not add or remove Snow Supertype from a land.
  • You may use a different color mana than the color required for spells and abilities that require a specific color. If you do, and the spell or ability checks the actual color of the mana, it can tell the difference.
  • If a permanent enters while Celestial Dawn is on the battlefield, and then Celestial Dawn leaves the battlefield, the permanent's color will revert to the colors in its mana cost.
  • If you have unspent nonwhite mana when Celestial Dawn enters, you still have that mana, but you can spend it only on the colorless part of costs.
  • If you use a text-changing effect such as Mind Bend on Celestial Dawn to change the word "Plains" to a different land type, your lands are all of that new land type, and they will produce mana of the appropriate color for that type.
  • Land cards you own that aren't on the battlefield aren't changed to Plains.
  • Mana produced by spells you control and nonland permanents you control isn't affected by Celestial Dawn. Llanowar Elves will produce {G}, for example. However, any colored mana may be spent only on the colorless part of costs.
  • If a nonbasic land has an ability that causes it to enter the battlefield tapped, it will lose that ability before it applies. The same is also true of any other abilities that modify how a land enters the battlefield or apply "as" a land enters the battlefield, such as the first ability of Cavern of Souls.

Lands you control are Plains. Nonland permanents you control are white. The same is true for spells you control and nonland cards you own that aren't on the battlefield. • Contaminated Ground's last ability triggers whenever the enchanted land becomes tapped for any reason, not just when it's tapped for mana.
  • If, while casting a spell or activating an ability, the enchanted land's controller taps the land for mana to pay for it, Contaminated Ground's ability triggers and goes on the stack on top of that spell or ability. Contaminated Ground's ability will resolve first.
  • On the other hand, the enchanted land's controller may tap the land for mana, let Contaminated Ground's ability trigger and go on the stack, then spend that mana to cast an instant or activate an ability in response. In that case, that instant or ability will resolve first.
  • The enchanted land loses its existing land types and any abilities printed on it. It now has the land type Swamp and has the ability to tap to add {B}. Contaminated Ground doesn't change the enchanted land's name or whether it's legendary, basic, or snow.

  • If Magus of the Moon loses its abilities, it continues to turn nonbasic lands into Mountains. This is because effects that change subtypes are applied before considering effects that remove abilities, regardless of the order in which those effects started.
  • If a nonbasic land has an ability that causes it to enter the battlefield tapped, it will lose that ability before it can apply. The same is also true of any other abilities that modify how a land enters the battlefield or apply "as" a land enters the battlefield, such as that of Vesuva or Cavern of Souls.

  • As Mire in Misery resolves, first the next opponent in turn order (or, if it’s an opponent’s turn, the opponent whose turn it is) chooses a creature or an enchantment they control, then each other opponent in turn order does the same, knowing the choices made before them. Then all the chosen permanents are sacrificed at the same time.
  • Your opponents choose what to sacrifice from among the creatures and enchantments they control. This means that you don’t decide which type of permanent a player sacrifices, and a player can’t choose to sacrifice an enchantment if they control none.

    Rules

  • Mycosynth Lattice turns all permanents on the battlefield into artifacts. Spells on the stack and cards in other zones aren’t permanents, so those spells and cards don’t become artifacts.
  • Mycosynth Lattice’s second ability makes everything, in every zone of the game, colorless.
  • The Lattice’s third ability lets players spend even colorless mana as though it had a color. However, it doesn’t remove restrictions on the mana. For example, Mycosynth Lattice doesn’t allow mana from Vedalken Engineer to be used to cast a nonartifact spell.
  • The Lattice’s first ability causes Auras to become artifacts. Combined with March of the Machines from the Mirrodin set, this can then make those Auras become creatures. An Aura that’s also a creature can’t enchant anything. It’s unattached the next time state-based actions are checked, and then immediately put into its owner’s graveyard as a second state-based action.
