"Find me cards equivalent to: Shagrat, Loot Bearer"

Equivalent (or similar) cards to Shagrat, Loot Bearer (Legendary, Black-Red, Equipment/Orcs synergy):
1. Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs — Red, makes tokens in response to attacks; similar defensive army theme.
2. Nahiri, Storm of Stone — Red/White, cares about Equipment, reduces Equip cost.
3. Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale — Mardu, but heavy Equipment and combat synergy.
4. Wyleth, Soul of Steel — Red/White, draws cards for Equipment, and likes to attack with Equipment.
5. Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury — Black/Red, cares about attacking/Orcs (Dragons instead of Orcs).
6. Akiri, Fearless Voyager — Red/White, attacks with Equipment, can attach Equipment in combat.

Summary: Nothing is a 1:1 for amassing Orcs + auto-equipping on attack in just Black-Red, but Shagrat, Loot Bearer is most unique; above cards reward attacking with Equipment and/or create tokens.

  • Akiri's first ability has you draw just one card per player you attack with an equipped creature, no matter how many equipped creatures you attack them with beyond the first and no matter how many Equipment that creature's carrying beyond the first.
  • If the creature is already tapped, it just gains indestructible until end of turn.
  • The Equipment that's unattached remains on the battlefield.
  • You choose which Equipment to unattach as Akiri's second ability resolves. Unattaching an Equipment from a creature won't affect other Equipment attached to that creature. No player can take actions between the time you unattach that Equipment and the time that the creature becomes tapped and gains indestructible.
  • Equipped creatures attacking a planeswalker or battle won't cause Akiri's first ability to trigger.

    Rules

  • As the ability resolves, you can't put the Ogre token onto the battlefield without explicitly giving the attacking player the option to pay {3}, even if the attacking player has forgotten about this ability.
  • If an attacking creature has a "Whenever this creature attacks" ability, that ability is put on the stack first, then Kazuul's ability is put on the stack. Although Kazuul's ability will resolve first, and potentially create an Ogre token, any target of the other ability will already have been chosen at this point, and thus could not have been the new Ogre token.
  • If you're the defending player, Kazuul's ability triggers once for each creature that attacks, not just once per combat. The attacking player chooses whether to pay {3} or let you have an Ogre token each time one of those abilities resolves.
  • In a multiplayer game, the ability checks whether you're the defending player for each individual attacking creature. For example, if one creature attacks you and two creatures attack another player, Kazuul's ability triggers just once.
  • The ability triggers and resolves during the declare attackers step. If you put an Ogre token onto the battlefield as a result, you may block with it during that combat phase.
  • You're the defending player if a creature is attacking you, a planeswalker you control, or a battle you protect.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Dash Flying

    Rules

  • If a creature enters the battlefield as a copy of or becomes a copy of a creature whose dash cost was paid, the copy won’t have haste and won’t be returned to its owner’s hand.
  • If you choose to pay the dash cost rather than the mana cost, you’re still casting the spell. It goes on the stack and can be responded to and countered. You can cast a creature spell for its dash cost only when you otherwise could cast that creature spell. Most of the time, this means during your main phase when the stack is empty.
  • If you pay the dash cost to cast a creature spell, that card will be returned to its owner’s hand only if it’s still on the battlefield when its triggered ability resolves. If it dies or goes to another zone before then, it will stay where it is.
  • You don’t have to attack with the creature with dash unless another ability says you do.

    Amass

    Rules

  • Amass Zombies works the same way, except you create a 0/0 black Zombie Army creature token if you don't control an Army. If the Army creature you chose isn't already a Zombie, it becomes a Zombie in addition to its other types. By combining cards with amass Orcs and amass Zombies, you can end up with an Orc Zombie Army.
  • Amass abilities are now written as "amass [subtype] N." Previous cards with amass have received errata to say "amass Zombies N."
  • Control of the Equipment doesn't change. If you target an Equipment an opponent controls, you won't be able to activate its equip ability, for example, and they can activate its equip ability as a sorcery to reattach it to a creature they control.
  • If you don't control an Army, the Orc Army token you create enters the battlefield as a 0/0 creature before receiving counters. Any abilities that trigger when a creature with a certain power enters the battlefield, such as that of Mentor of the Meek, will see the token enter as a 0/0 creature before it gets +1/+1 counters.
  • In the rare case that you control multiple Army creatures (perhaps because you played a creature with changeling) while you amass Orcs, you choose which of your Army creatures to put the +1/+1 counters on. If that creature isn't an Orc, it becomes an Orc in addition to its other types.
  • Some cards refer to the "amassed Army." That means the Army creature you chose to receive counters, even if no counters were placed on it for some reason.
  • Some spells and abilities that amass Orcs may require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won't resolve. You won't amass Orcs.
  • To amass Orcs N, if you don't control an Army creature, create a 0/0 black Orc Army creature token. Then you choose an Army creature you control and put N +1/+1 counters on it. If that Army isn't already an Orc, it becomes an Orc in addition to its other types.
  • When Shagrat, Loot Bearer's ability triggers, you can choose not to target an Equipment just to amass Orcs. However, if you do choose a target, and that target is illegal at the time the ability tries to resolve, the ability won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won't amass Orcs.
