"Find me cards equivalent to: Slagstone Refinery"

Equivalent cards to Slagstone Refinery (Colorless Artifacts with similar death/exile triggers & token/mana production):

  • Slagstone Refinery (baseline)
  • Reckoner Bankbuster (makes tokens, not a death trigger, but interacts with tokens and artifacts)
  • Sai, Master Thopterist (creates tokens when you cast artifacts)
  • Marionette Master (triggers on artifact death for opponent life loss)
  • Tamiyo's Journal (makes Clue tokens over time, not tied to deaths)

None are exact, but Slagstone Refinery is unique in making Powerstones on death/exile; others offer similar triggers or artifact token synergies.

    Fabricate

    Rules

  • Artifact tokens that are sacrificed or destroyed are put into their owner's graveyard before ceasing to exist. If you controlled the token, Marionette Master's last ability will trigger.
  • Fabricate doesn't cause the creature with the ability to enter the battlefield with +1/+1 counters already on it. For example, Weaponcraft Enthusiast will enter the battlefield as a 0/1 creature, then its fabricate ability goes on the stack. Players may take actions (such as casting instants) while the ability is waiting to resolve.
  • If Marionette Master and an artifact you control are put into a graveyard at the same time, Marionette Master's ability triggers.
  • If Marionette Master's power is negative, the target opponent doesn't lose (or gain) life.
  • If you can't put +1/+1 counters on the creature for any reason as fabricate resolves (for instance, if it's no longer on the battlefield), you just create Servo tokens.
  • The amount of life lost is determined as Marionette Master's last ability resolves. If Marionette Master is no longer on the battlefield, use its power as it last existed on the battlefield to determine how much life is lost.
  • You choose whether to put +1/+1 counters on the creature or create Servo tokens as the fabricate ability is resolving. No player may take actions between the time you choose and the time that counters are added or tokens are created.

    Powerstone

    Rules

  • Although all the cards in The Brothers' War that create Powerstone tokens create a tapped Powerstone token, entering the battlefield tapped isn't part of the token's definition. Notably, if you create a token that is a copy of a Powerstone token, the token copy won't enter the battlefield tapped.
  • If Slagstone Refinery is put into a graveyard from the battlefield or exiled from the battlefield at the same time that one or more other nontoken artifacts controlled by the same player are put into a graveyard from the battlefield and/or exiled from the battlefield, its triggered ability will trigger once for each of them plus once for itself.
  • Powerstone tokens are a kind of predefined token. Each one has the artifact subtype "Powerstone" and the ability "{T}: Add {C}. This mana can't be spent to cast a nonartifact spell."
  • You can use the {C} added by a Powerstone token on anything that isn't a nonartifact spell. This includes paying costs to activate abilities of both artifact and nonartifact permanents, paying ward costs, and so on.

    Rules

  • Clue is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some cards with other permanent types, it's never a creature type, a land type, or anything but an artifact type.
  • If an effect refers to a Clue, it means any Clue artifact, not just a Clue artifact token. For example, you can sacrifice Wrench to pay for Alquist Proft, Master Sleuth's activated ability.
  • You can't sacrifice a Clue to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Clue token to activate its own ability and also to activate Alquist Proft, Master Sleuth's ability.
