"Find me cards equivalent to: Tourach, Dread Cantor"

Equivalent cards to Tourach, Dread Cantor (mono-black, legendary creature, discard/protection/trigger on discard) include:

  • Tinybones, Trinket Thief — Legendary, triggers when opponents discard cards, lets you draw.
  • Rankle, Master of Pranks — Legendary, makes each player discard, among other effects.

  • If an opponent has one or fewer cards in hand as Davriel's first ability triggers but has two or more cards in hand as that ability resolves, Davriel doesn't deal damage to them.
  • If an opponent has two or more cards in their hand as their upkeep begins, Davriel's first ability won't trigger. No player may take any actions during a turn before the turn's upkeep begins. Because the upkeep step is before the draw step, that player won't have drawn a card for the turn yet.
  • In a Two-Headed Giant game, Davriel's first ability triggers for each opponent separately as appropriate during that player's team's upkeep.

    Flying Haste

    Rules

  • As the first mode is performed, first the player whose turn it is chooses a card in hand without revealing it, then each other player in turn order does the same. Then all the chosen cards are discarded at the same time.
  • As the third mode is performed, first the player whose turn it chooses a creature they control, then each other player in turn order does the same, knowing the choices made before them. Then all the chosen creatures are sacrificed at the same time.
  • For each chosen mode, perform that mode in its entirety before continuing on to the next chosen mode in the order printed.
  • If you really want, you can choose zero modes for Rankle's triggered ability, but carefully consider the hidden costs in not entertaining someone titled Master of Pranks.
  • In a Two-Headed Giant game, Rankle's second mode causes each team to lose 1 life twice.
  • You can choose a mode even if some or all players will be unaffected.
  • You can't choose a mode more than once.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Kicker Protection

    Rules

  • Triggered abilities are put on the stack in turn order, starting with the player whose turn it is. For example, if an opponent discards a card with madness during your turn, the madness trigger will resolve before Tourach's ability can put a +1/+1 counter on it. If they discard it during their turn, Tourach's ability puts a +1/+1 counter on it before they can cast the spell.
  • If a card or token enters as a copy of a permanent, the new permanent isn't kicked, even if the original was.
  • If a spell's kicker cost was paid, the spell is "kicked."
  • If you copy a kicked spell on the stack, the copy is also kicked. If the copied spell is a permanent spell, the token the copy of that spell becomes when it enters is also kicked.
  • If you put a permanent with a kicker ability onto the battlefield without casting it, you can't kick it.
  • The kicker ability doesn't let you pay a kicker cost more than once.
  • To determine a spell's total cost, start with the mana cost (or an alternative cost if another card's effect allows you to pay one instead), add any cost increases (such as kicker), then apply any cost reductions. The spell's mana value remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
