Rules

Any cards not cast, including land cards, remain in exile. They can't be cast on later turns, even if Etali attacks again.

Because all attacking creatures are chosen at once, a creature cast this way can't attack during the same combat as Etali, even if it has haste.

If an exiled card has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as the value of X when casting it without paying its mana cost.

If you cast a card "without paying its mana cost," you can't pay any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast the card.

If you cast any of the exiled cards, you do so as part of the resolution of the triggered ability. You can't wait to cast them later in the turn. Timing permissions based on a card's type are ignored, and the spells resolve before blockers are declared.

If you cast more than one of the exiled cards, you choose the order in which to cast them. A spell you cast this way can be the target of a later spell you cast this way. However, permanent spells cast this way won't resolve until you're done casting spells, so the permanents they become can't be the target of spells cast this way. For example, if you exile Twincast and Lightning Strike, you can cast Lightning Strike and then cast Twincast targeting it; but if you exile a creature card and an Aura card, you can't cast that Aura targeting that creature.

In a multiplayer game, if a player leaves the game, all cards that player owns leave as well. If you leave the game, any spells or permanents you control from Etali's ability are exiled.

If the target land isn't destroyed by Sundering Eruption's effect (perhaps because the land has indestructible), its controller still gets to search for a basic land card, and creatures without flying still can't block this turn.

The effect of Sundering Eruption prevents all creatures without flying from blocking that turn, including creatures that lose flying after Sundering Eruption resolves and creatures without flying that enter the battlefield later in the turn. Creatures without flying that gain flying later in the turn will be able to block if they have flying when blockers are being declared.

The mana value of a modal double-faced card is based on the characteristics of the face that's being considered. On the stack or the battlefield, consider whichever face is up. If you copy a spell with the first mode, you can’t choose to pay any additional costs for the copy. However, effects based on any additional costs that were paid for the original spell are copied as though those same costs were paid for the copy too.

If you copy an activated ability with the first mode, and the activation cost includes a choice, such as a creature to sacrifice or a number of counters to remove, the copy uses that same information. You can’t pay the cost again, even if you want to.

No matter which modes you choose, you always follow the instructions in the order they are written.

No player can cast spells or activate abilities in between the modes of a resolving spell. Any abilities that trigger won’t be put onto the stack until the spell is done resolving.

The copy created by the effect of Return the Favor’s first mode will have the same targets as the spell or ability it’s copying unless you choose new ones. You may change any number of the targets, including all of them or none of them. The new targets must be legal.

The copy made by the effect of Return the Favor’s first mode is created on the stack, so it’s not “cast” or “activated.”

The mana value of a spell with spree is determined only by its mana cost (in the upper right corner of the card). It doesn’t matter which modes you choose or which additional costs you pay, including any additional costs imposed by other effects.

You can’t choose the same mode more than once.

You choose the modes as you cast the spell with spree. Once modes are chosen, they can’t be changed.

You don’t choose the new target for the spell or ability targeted with Return the Favor’s second mode until Return the Favor resolves. You must change the target if possible. However, you can’t change the target to an illegal target. If there are no legal targets to choose from, the target isn’t changed. It doesn’t matter if the original target has somehow become illegal itself.

You must choose at least one of the listed modes and pay its associated additional cost in order to cast a spell with spree.

It doesn't matter whether Vivid Crag has a charge counter on it, and it doesn't matter whether it's untapped.

Fellwar Stone doesn't care about any restrictions or riders your opponents' lands (such as Ancient Ziggurat or Hall of the Bandit Lord) put on the mana they produce. It just cares about colors of mana.

The colors of mana are white, blue, black, red, and green. Fellwar Stone can't be tapped for colorless mana, even if a land an opponent controls could produce colorless mana.

When determining what colors of mana your opponents' lands could produce, take into account any applicable replacement effects that would apply to those lands' mana abilities (such as Contamination's effect, for example). If there is more than one, consider them in any possible order.

If you gain control of another player's creature until end of turn and exert it, it will untap during that player's untap step.

There's no main phase between your combat phases, so you'll have no opportunity to cast spells or activate abilities that could only be cast any time you could cast a sorcery. For example, you won't be able to cast another creature or equip Equipment between combats.

Untapping an attacking creature doesn't remove it from combat.

You can't exert a creature unless an effect allows you to do so. Similar effects that "tap and freeze" a creature (such as that of Decision Paralysis) don't exert that creature.
