"Find me cards equivalent to: City of Shadows"

City of Shadows is unique in its exact function, but here are similar colorless lands that exile creatures for a benefit or use storage counters:
1. Phyrexian Tower — {T}, Sacrifice a creature: Add {B}{B}. (Sacrifices, not exile, but strong utility.)
2. Miren, the Moaning Well — {T}, Sacrifice a creature: You gain life equal to the sacrificed creature’s toughness.
3. Saltcrusted Steppe — {T}: Add {C}. It uses storage counters for mana, but not from exiling creatures.
4. Mage-Ring Network — {T}: Put a storage counter. {T}, Remove X storage counters: Add X {C}.

Reason: No land exiles creatures for storage counters and scales like City of Shadows, but these are close in utility or mechanic.

  • The storage counters aren't removed when you activate the mana ability.
  • You can activate City of Shadows's second ability while it has no storage counters on it, though it won't add any mana in this case. You did not tap it for mana, though, in case any abilities (such as the ability of a Fertile Ground enchanting it) care about that.
