"Find me cards equivalent to: Diabolic Vision"

Equivalent cards to Diabolic Vision (Sorcery, Blue-Black, Look at top five, put one in hand, rest back):

  • Diabolic Vision itself (reprints)
  • No exact equivalents with all the same attributes. Closest similar cards:
    • Tainted Pact (Black, exile cards till you find one, put in hand or exile all others; not quite the same but similar selection ability)
    • Lim-Dûl's Vault (Blue-Black, instant, reorder top X cards, pay life, repeat)
    • Fact or Fiction (Blue, instant, look at top five, opponent splits, one pile in hand, other to graveyard—similar draw/filter)

Reason: No other sorcery exists with exactly the same effect in Blue-Black. Closest are instant-speed versions or slightly different actions.

  • In other words: — Step 1: Look at the top five cards of your library. — Step 2: If you like them, proceed to step 3a. If you don't like them, proceed to step 3b. — Step 3a: Shuffle the rest of your library, then put those five cards back on top of your library in the order you want. The spell has finished resolving. — Step 3b: Put those five cards on the bottom of your library in the order you want. Pay 1 life. Return to step 1.

Exile the top card of your library. You may put that card into your hand unless it has the same name as another card exiled this way. Repeat this process until you put a card into your hand or you exile two cards with the same name, whichever comes first.
