AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Dovescape

Equivalent cards to Dovescape (blue and white, similar effect: spells replaced, tokens created):

  • Guile (Blue): If an opponent would counter your spell, exile it instead.
  • Rule of Law (White): Each player can cast only one spell each turn.
  • Curiosity Crafter (Blue): Creates tokens when drawing cards (token synergy).
  • Swans of Bryn Argoll (Blue/White): Turns damage into card draw rather than token creation, but interacts oddly with spells.

True equivalents are rare—none replace all spells with tokens like Dovescape. Closest is Guile for spell replacement and Curiosity Crafter for blue token synergy.

    Rules

  • If a split card is cast, Dovescape makes tokens equal to the mana value of the half that was cast.
  • The Bird tokens are created even if the spell isn't countered by Dovescape's ability. This may happen because the spell can't be countered, because it's already been countered, or because it's otherwise been removed from the stack by the time Dovescape's ability resolves.

    Rules

  • A spell exiled this way was never actually countered.
  • Although this ability triggers when the Incarnation is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, it doesn't *specifically* trigger on leaving the battlefield, so it doesn't behave like other leaves-the-battlefield abilities. The ability will trigger from the graveyard.
  • Exiling the spell is mandatory. Casting it is not.
  • Guile's second ability replaces "counter [a certain spell]" with "exile [a certain spell] and you may cast it without paying its mana cost." You have the option to cast it immediately upon its exile. If you choose not to, it remains exiled and you don't get another chance to cast it. If the spell or ability that tried to counter the spell has additional effects, it then continues to resolve.
  • If a spell or ability you control attempts to counter a spell that can't be countered, it doesn't. Since the spell wouldn't be countered, Guile's ability has no effect on it. The spell will continue to resolve normally.
  • If the Incarnation had lost this ability while on the battlefield (due to Lignify, for example) and then was destroyed, the ability would still trigger and it would get shuffled into its owner's library. However, if the Incarnation lost this ability when it was put into the graveyard (due to Yixlid Jailer, for example), the ability wouldn't trigger and the Incarnation would remain in the graveyard.
  • If the Incarnation is removed from the graveyard after the ability triggers but before it resolves, it will remain in its new zone when its owner shuffles their library. Similarly, if a replacement effect has the Incarnation move to a different zone instead of being put into the graveyard, the ability won't trigger at all.
  • The last ability triggers when the Incarnation is put into its owner's graveyard from any zone, not just from on the battlefield.

    Flying

    Rules

  • If a creature with wither would deal damage to Swans of Bryn Argoll, that damage is treated just like any other damage. It’s prevented, and the creature’s controller draws cards. Swans of Bryn Argoll doesn’t get any -1/-1 counters.
  • If a spell is causing damage to be dealt, that spell will always identify the source of the damage. In most cases, the source is the spell itself. For example, Burn Trail says “Burn Trail deals 3 damage to any target.”
  • If an ability is causing damage to be dealt, that ability will always identify the source of the damage. The ability itself is never the source. However, the source of the ability is often the source of the damage. For example, Knollspine Invocation’s ability says “Knollspine Invocation deals X damage to any target.”
  • If the source of the damage is a permanent, Swans of Bryn Argoll checks who that permanent’s controller is at the time that damage is prevented. If the permanent has left the battlefield by then, its last known information is used. If the source of the damage is a spell, its controller is obvious. If the source of the damage is a card from some other zone (such as a cycled Gempalm Incinerator), Swans of Bryn Argoll checks its owner rather than its controller.
  • The source of combat damage is the creature that deals it.
