"Find me cards equivalent to: Fervent Mastery"

Cards similar to Fervent Mastery (Sorcery, Red, rummaging/search effects):
1. Gamble — Searches for any card, then discard a card at random.
2. Faithless Looting — Draws and discards, not a tutor, but similar rummage.
3. Cathartic Reunion — Discard then draw, not a tutor.
4. Eureka Moment (Simic, not mono-red) — Instant, but draws and ramps.

Closest in function is Gamble, since it searches the library and discards at random. The others offer the draw-discard theme but not tutoring. Red sorceries rarely tutor, especially like Fervent Mastery.

  • Putting a land card from your hand onto the battlefield is not the same as playing a land. You may do it even if you have already played a land on your turn, or if you're casting Eureka Moment on your opponent's turn.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Flashback

    Rules

  • You draw two cards and discard two cards all while Faithless Looting is resolving. Nothing can happen between the two, and no player may choose to take actions.
  • "Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard if the resulting spell is an instant or sorcery spell by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack."
  • A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.
  • If a card with flashback is put into your graveyard during your turn, you can cast it if it's legal to do so before any other player can take any actions.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.
  • You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.
  • You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card's type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using flashback only when you could normally cast a sorcery.

    Rules

  • If an effect increases or decreases the cost of spells you cast, that cost increase or decrease is applied to the alternative cost you chose to pay. In that case, the cost was still paid for the purposes of the effect, even if you paid more or less for it when it was cast.
  • If the {2}{R}{R} cost was paid, the opponent chooses how many and which cards to discard as Fervent Mastery resolves. They may choose to discard no cards.
  • If you choose to pay one alternative cost, you can’t pay any other alternative costs. For example, if an effect lets you cast a “Mastery” spell “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t also choose to pay its given alternative cost.
  • If you copy a “Mastery” spell and the alternative cost was paid, the copy will resolve as though the cost was paid.
  • In a multiplayer game, you choose which opponent takes the prescribed action as the spell resolves.
  • The mana value of a spell on the stack is determined by its mana cost, not any alternative costs you used to pay for it.

You may pay rather than pay this spell's mana cost. If the cost was paid, an opponent discards any number of cards, then draws that many cards. Search your library for up to three cards, put them into your hand, shuffle, thendiscardthree cards at random.
