  • Any enters abilities of the copied creature will trigger when Clone enters. Any "as [this creature] enters" or "[this creature] enters with" abilities of the chosen creature will also work.
  • Clone copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.
  • Clone's ability doesn't target the chosen creature.
  • If Clone somehow enters at the same time as another creature, Clone can't become a copy of that creature. You may choose only a creature that's already on the battlefield.
  • If the copied creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If the copied creature is a token, Clone copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created the token.
  • If the copied creature is copying something else (for example, if the copied creature is an Evil Twin), then Clone enters as whatever that creature copied.
  • You can choose not to copy anything. In that case, Clone enters as a 0/0 Shapeshifter creature, and is probably put into the graveyard immediately.

    Rules

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when Gigantoplasm enters the battlefield. Any "as [this creature] enters the battlefield" or "[this creature] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the chosen creature will also work.
  • Effects that modify Gigantoplasm's power and/or toughness, such as the effect of Giant Growth or Glorious Anthem, will apply to Gigantoplasm no matter when they started applying. The same is true for counters that affect its power and/or toughness and effects that switch its power and toughness.
  • Gigantoplasm copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing more (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, etc.
  • However, the effect of that ability isn't copiable. That is, if Gigantoplasm is a copy of a creature with base power and toughness 2/2 and you activate its ability making it a 4/4 creature, another creature that becomes a copy of Gigantoplasm will have base power and toughness 2/2.
  • If Gigantoplasm isn't a creature (perhaps because it copied a land that had temporarily become a creature), you can still activate the ability "{X}: This creature has base power and toughness X/X." However, this ability won't have any effect, and it won't turn Gigantoplasm into a creature.
  • If Gigantoplasm somehow enters the battlefield at the same time as another creature, it can't become a copy of that creature. You may choose only a creature that's already on the battlefield.
  • If the chosen creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is 0. The ability that Gigantoplasm gives itself doesn't affect an {X} in its mana cost.
  • If the chosen creature is copying something else (for example, if the chosen creature is another Gigantoplasm), then Gigantoplasm enters the battlefield as whatever the chosen creature was copying (plus any abilities it gained as part of the copy process, if applicable).
  • The activated ability Gigantoplasm gives itself becomes part of its copiable values. Unless the ability is overwritten by another copy effect, a creature that's a copy of Gigantoplasm will have that ability.
  • The activated ability overwrites all previous effects that set Gigantoplasm's base power and/or toughness to specific values. Other effects that set its base power and/or toughness that start to apply after the ability resolves (including ones created by subsequent activations of the ability) will overwrite the effect of the ability.
  • You can choose not to copy anything. In that case, Gigantoplasm enters the battlefield as a 0/0 Shapeshifter creature, and is probably put into the graveyard immediately.
  • If the chosen creature is a token, Gigantoplasm copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created the token. Gigantoplasm isn't a token, even if it's copying one.
  • The activated ability that Gigantoplasm gives itself doesn't have a duration. It lasts until Gigantoplasm leaves the battlefield or another effect overwrites it (for example, if you activate the ability again once you have more mana available). Each time the ability resolves, it will overwrite any previous effects that set its power and toughness, including previous activations of the ability. Effects that otherwise modify Gigantoplasm's power and/or toughness, including +1/+1 counters, will still apply no matter when they took effect.

  • If there is no creature on the battlefield or if you don't choose a creature as Sakashima enters, Sakashima remains a 3/1 Human Rogue.
  • Sakashima doesn't get the return to hand ability unless a creature is copied as Sakashima enters. Sakashima can't copy itself because the choice is made as part of the event that puts it onto the battlefield, and whatever will be copied must already be on the battlefield.
  • Sakashima must be on the battlefield at the end of turn in order to return to hand. If Sakashima leaves the battlefield after the ability is activated but before the at-end-of-turn ability resolves, the ability does nothing.

    Rules

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when Vizier of Many Faces enters the battlefield. Any "as [this creature] enters the battlefield" or "[this creature] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the chosen creature will also work.
  • For each card with embalm, a corresponding game play supplement token can be found in some Amonkhet booster packs. These supplements are not required to play with cards with embalm; you can use the same items to represent an embalmed token as you would any other token.
  • If Vizier of Many Faces somehow enters the battlefield at the same time as another creature, Vizier of Many Faces can't become a copy of that creature. You may choose only a creature that's already on the battlefield.
  • If the card copied by the token had any "when [this permanent] enters the battlefield" abilities, then the token also has those abilities and will trigger them when it's created. Similarly, any "as [this permanent] enters the battlefield" or "[this permanent] enters the battlefield with" abilities that the token has copied will also work.
  • If the chosen creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If the chosen creature is a token, Vizier of Many Faces copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created the token. Vizier of Many Faces is not a token in this case unless it's embalmed.
  • If the chosen creature is copying something else (for example, if the chosen creature is another Vizier of Many Faces), then Vizier of Many Faces enters the battlefield as whatever the chosen creature copied.
  • The characteristics Vizier of Many Faces gains as part of its copy effect are copiable values that other effects may copy.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original card and nothing else. It doesn't copy any information about the object the card was before it was put into your graveyard.
  • The token is a Zombie in addition to its other types and is white instead of its other colors. It has no mana cost, and thus its mana value is 0. These are copiable values of the token that other effects may copy.
  • Vizier of Many Faces copies exactly what was printed on the original creature (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.
  • If a spell or ability puts a creature card with embalm into your graveyard during your main phase, you'll have priority immediately after that spell or ability resolves. You can activate the creature card's embalm ability before any player can exile it with an effect, such as that of Crook of Condemnation, if it's legal for you to do so.
  • Once you've activated an embalm ability, the card is immediately exiled. Opponents can't try to stop the ability by exiling the card with an effect such as that of Crook of Condemnation.
