"Find me cards equivalent to: Grixis Grimblade"

Equivalent or similar cards to Grixis Grimblade that are also Grixis colored (B, R, U), have a similar type, and reference a bonus for controlling other multicolored permanents, are very rare. However, here are the closest options:
1. Morselhoarder — Creature, Grixis colors, but not a zombie/warrior or multicolor-matters.
2. Cunning Nightbonder — U, B, partial Grixis, and rewards multicolored spells, but not exactly the same.
3. Bloodhall Ooze — R, gains bonuses for controlling different colored permanents.
4. Murderous Redcap — B, R, similar hybrid/multicolored creature.

Grixis Grimblade itself is the best fit; there isn’t an exact match in Grixis colors with the same ability package and creature type. Grixis rarely focuses on control another multicolored permanent as a mechanical theme.

  • A permanent that’s both black and green will allow both abilities to trigger (as will separate black permanents and green permanents, of course).
  • The “intervening ‘if’ clause” means that (1) the ability won’t trigger at all unless you control a permanent of the specified color, and (2) the ability will do nothing unless you control a permanent of the specified color at the time it resolves.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Flash

    Rules

  • A spell or ability that counters spells can still target spells with flash you cast. When that spell or ability resolves, your spell won't be countered, but any additional effects of the countering spell or ability will still happen.
  • Cunning Nightbonder's cost reduction applies only to generic mana in a spell's cost. It can't reduce a spell's colored mana requirements. For example, your first Cunning Nightbonder won't normally reduce the cost of your second since it has no generic mana in its cost.
  • Cunning Nightbonder's last ability doesn't apply to itself while it's a spell.
  • If Cunning Nightbonder enters the battlefield while a spell with flash that you cast is on the stack, that spell can't be countered, even though you don't get the {1} discount.
  • Players can't attempt to remove Cunning Nightbonder to raise the cost of a spell you wish to cast, but they can remove it to allow their spells and abilities to counter your spells.
  • Spells with flash that you control but didn't cast (perhaps because they're copies of a spell or because you took control of them from another player) can be countered.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Cunning Nightbonder). The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Persist

    Rules

  • Murderous Redcap’s power is checked at the time the ability resolves. If it’s left the battlefield by then, its last known information is used.
  • If a creature with persist stops being a creature, persist will still work.
  • If a creature with persist that has +1/+1 counters on it receives enough -1/-1 counters to cause it to be destroyed by lethal damage or put into its owner’s graveyard for having 0 or less toughness, persist won’t trigger and the card won’t return to the battlefield. That’s because persist checks the creature’s existence just before it leaves the battlefield, and it still has all those counters on it at that point.
  • If a permanent has multiple instances of persist, they’ll each trigger separately, but the redundant instances will have no effect. If one instance returns the card to the battlefield, the next to resolve will do nothing.
  • If a token with no -1/-1 counters on it has persist, the ability will trigger when the token is put into the graveyard. However, the token will cease to exist and can’t return to the battlefield.
  • If multiple creatures with persist are put into the graveyard at the same time (due to combat damage or a spell that destroys all creatures, for example), the active player (the player whose turn it is) puts all of their persist triggers on the stack in any order, then each other player in turn order does the same. The last trigger put on the stack is the first one that resolves. That means that in a two-player game, the nonactive player’s persist creatures will return to the battlefield first, then the active player’s persist creatures do the same. The creatures return to the battlefield one at a time.
  • The persist ability triggers when the permanent is put into a graveyard. Its last known information (that is, how the creature last existed on the battlefield) is used to determine whether it had a -1/-1 counter on it.
  • When a permanent with persist returns to the battlefield, it’s a new object with no memory of or connection to its previous existence.

When this creature enters, it deals damage equal to its power to any target. Persist (When this creature dies, if it had no -1/-1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a -1/-1counteron it.)
