"Find me cards equivalent to: Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse"

Equivalent green cards with similar effects (draw-second-card triggers, token generation, or hand-size matters), and are legendary creatures:

  • Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse (searched-for card)
  • Chulane, Teller of Tales (draw, tokens, but also blue/white)
  • Yeva, Nature's Herald (green legend, but flash, no token/draw)
  • Tatyova, Benthic Druid (draw/triggers, but also blue)
  • Neyith of the Dire Hunt (draw/attack triggers, green/red)
  • Toothy, Imaginary Friend (draw-matters, but also blue)

Closest mono-green: Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse is unique for mono-green with draw-second-card/token synergy. Nothing else in mono-green is quite the same, but Sylvos, Rogue Elemental manipulates board state with hand size.

Short reason: No direct mono-green equivalents, but the most similar green legends involve draw triggers or hand-size matters.

    Rules

  • Chulane's triggered ability doesn't count as playing a land. It can put a land card onto the battlefield even if you've already played your land for the turn, and even if it's not your turn.
  • Chulane's triggered ability resolves before the spell that caused it to trigger. It resolves even if that spell is countered.

    Rules

  • Effects that modify an affected creature's power and/or toughness without setting them to specific values will apply no matter when those effects began. The same is true for counters that change the creature's power and/or toughness.
  • Jolrael's last ability overwrites all previous effects that set the affected creatures' power and/or toughness to specific values. If other effects that set these characteristics to specific values start to apply after Jolrael's ability resolves, they will overwrite that part of the effect.
  • The triggered ability can trigger only once each turn. It doesn't matter if Jolrael was on the battlefield when the first card was drawn: if it's not on the battlefield when the second card is drawn, the ability can't trigger at all that turn.
  • The value of X is determined only as Jolrael's last ability resolves. Once that happens, the value of X won't change later in the turn even if the number of cards in your hand changes.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Double

    Rules

  • A creature “fights” when an effect instructs it to fight. Dealing combat damage isn’t fighting.
  • If an effect instructs you to “double” a creature’s power, that creature gets +X/+0, where X is its power as that effect begins to apply. If its power is negative, instead it gets -X/-0 where X is how far below 0 its power is. The value of X won’t change if another effect alters the creature’s power later in the turn.
  • If each creature the defending player controls can’t block for any reason (such as being tapped), then the target creature isn’t blocked. If there’s a cost associated with blocking the target creature, the defending player isn’t forced to pay that cost, so it doesn’t have to be blocked in that case either.
  • If the target creature has menace, two creatures must block it if able.
  • Only one creature is required to block the target creature. Other creatures may also block it and are free to block other creatures or not block at all.
  • The defending player, not you, chooses which creature blocks the target creature.
  • While resolving Neyith’s last ability, you can’t pay multiple times to double a creature’s power more than once or to double more than one creature’s power.
  • You draw just one card as Neyith’s first ability resolves, no matter how many creatures you control fought or became blocked.

  • A landfall ability triggers whenever a land you control enters for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.
  • Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of the permanents you control will trigger. You can put them   on the stack in any order. Abilities/Keywords

    Partner

    Rules

  • "Partner with [name]" represents two abilities. The first is a triggered ability: "When this permanent enters the battlefield, target player may search their library for a card named [name], reveal it, put it into their hand, then shuffle their library."
  • An effect that checks whether you control your commander is satisfied if you control one or both of your two commanders.
  • Both commanders start in the command zone, and the remaining 98 cards of your deck are shuffled to become your library.
  • If a spell or ability causes you to put cards in your hand without specifically using the word "draw," Toothy's middle ability won't trigger.
  • If enough -1/-1 counters are put on Toothy at the same time to make its toughness 0 or less, the number of +1/+1 counters on it before it got any -1/-1 counters will be used to determine how many cards you draw. For example, if there are two +1/+1 counters on Toothy and it gets three -1/-1 counters, you'll draw two cards.
  • If you draw multiple cards, Toothy's middle ability triggers that many times. If your team also controls Pir, each of those resolving triggered abilities puts two +1/+1 counters on Toothy.
  • If your Commander deck has two commanders, you can only include cards whose own color identities are also found in your commanders' combined color identities. If Khorvath and Sylvia are your commanders, your deck may contain cards with red and/or white in their color identity, but not blue, black, or green.
  • Note that the target player searches their library (which may be affected by effects such as that of Stranglehold) and that the card they find is revealed, even though these words aren't included in the ability's reminder text.
  • Once the game begins, your two commanders are tracked separately. If you cast one, you won't have to pay an additional {2} the first time you cast the other. A player loses the game after having been dealt 21 damage from one of them, not from both of them combined. Command Beacon's effect puts one into your hand from the command zone, not both.
  • The second ability represented by the "partner with [name]" keyword modifies the rules for deck construction in the Commander variant and has no function outside of that variant. If a legendary creature card with "partner with [name]" is designated as your commander, the named legendary creature card can also be designated as your commander. For more information on the Commander variant, please visit Wizards.com/Commander.
  • The triggered ability of the "partner with" keyword still triggers in a Commander game. If your other commander has somehow ended up in your library, you can find it. You can also target another player who might have that card in their library.
  • To have two commanders, both must have the partner ability (featured in the Magic: The Gathering—Commander™ (2016 Edition) set) or corresponding "partner with" abilities as the game begins. A creature with a "partner with" ability can't partner with any creature other than its designated partner. Losing a partner ability during the game doesn't cause either to cease to be your commander.
