"Find me cards equivalent to: Magus of the Future"

Magus of the Future equivalent cards (blue, similar effect):
1. Future Sight (Enchantment — lets you play with the top card revealed and play from it)
2. Mystic Forge (Artifact — lets you cast colorless spells from top of your library)
3. Galecaster Colossus (not equivalent, but blue Wizard synergy)
4. Augur of Bolas (blue, but only draws on ETB—not equivalent)

Best equivalence: Future Sight — it is almost the same effect, but as an enchantment instead of a creature.

  • If the top card of your library changes while you're casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability (most likely because that top card is the card you're playing), the new top card won't be revealed until you finish doing so.
  • If the top card of your library is a land, you may play that land only if you have any available land plays.
  • The top card of your library isn't in your hand, so you can't suspend it, cycle it, or activate any of its abilities.
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions for the top card of your library and pay its costs. If the card has alternative or additional costs, you may pay those. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.

  • If the top card of your library changes while you're casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability, you don't reveal the new top card until you finish doing so. This means that if you cast the top card of your library, you can't look at the next one until you're done paying for that spell; and if you play a land from the top of your library, you can't look at the next card until you're done handling any replacement effects that modify how that land enters the battlefield (such as that of Vesuva).
  • Magus of the Future doesn't change when you can play lands. You can do so only during your main phase when you have priority and the stack is empty.
  • Playing a land from the top of your library counts as your land play for the turn. Once you play a land during your turn, you won't be able to play an additional land from the top of your library unless another effect (such as that of Azusa, Lost but Seeking) allows you to.
  • The top card of your library is still in your library and not in your hand. You can't discard or suspend cards from the top of your library, for example.
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions of the spells you cast from your library.
  • You still pay all costs for a spell you cast from your library, including additional costs. You may also pay alternative costs.

  • Because you never "cast" a land card, Mystic Forge doesn't allow you to play an artifact land from the top of your library.
  • If the top card of your library changes while you're casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability, you can't look at the new top card until you finish doing so. This means that if you cast the top card of your library, you can't look at the next one until you're done paying for that spell.
  • If the top card of your library has a morph ability, you can cast it face down from the top of your library, even if it's normally not a colorless card.
  • Mystic Forge lets you look at the top card of your library whenever you want (with one restriction—see below), even if you don't have priority. This action doesn't use the stack. Knowing what that card is becomes part of the information you have access to, just like you can look at the cards in your hand.
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions of the spells you cast from your library.
  • You still pay all costs for a spell you cast from your library, including additional costs. You may also pay alternative costs.
