AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Painter's Servant

Equivalent cards to Painter's Servant (colorless, artifact, similar effect):

  • Mycosynth Lattice (turns all permanents into all colors/types)
  • Celestial Dawn (for white, all nonland cards become colorless, lands produce white)
  • Prismatic Omen (for green, all your lands are all basic land types and produce any color)

Reason: Nothing else exactly duplicates Painter's Servant’s universal color-changing, but these interact with colors in broad/deck-shaping ways.

  • Celestial Dawn does not change the type of lands which are not on the battlefield. Lands not on the battlefield are what they say they are.
  • Celestial Dawn no longer changes mana symbols on cards.
  • If you pay white mana to activate an ability that can only be activated by spending another color of mana, then any limitations on activating the ability (such as the number of times it can be activated each turn) still apply as if you spent the proper color.
  • The effect to turn all your non-land cards (including artifacts) white is the effect of a static ability. Thus, a color change on a permanent prior to Celestial Dawn entering the battlefield will be overridden by Celestial Dawn's effect.
  • Will not add or remove Snow Supertype from a land.
  • You may use a different color mana than the color required for spells and abilities that require a specific color. If you do, and the spell or ability checks the actual color of the mana, it can tell the difference.
  • If a permanent enters while Celestial Dawn is on the battlefield, and then Celestial Dawn leaves the battlefield, the permanent's color will revert to the colors in its mana cost.
  • If you have unspent nonwhite mana when Celestial Dawn enters, you still have that mana, but you can spend it only on the colorless part of costs.
  • If you use a text-changing effect such as Mind Bend on Celestial Dawn to change the word "Plains" to a different land type, your lands are all of that new land type, and they will produce mana of the appropriate color for that type.
  • Land cards you own that aren't on the battlefield aren't changed to Plains.
  • Mana produced by spells you control and nonland permanents you control isn't affected by Celestial Dawn. Llanowar Elves will produce {G}, for example. However, any colored mana may be spent only on the colorless part of costs.
  • If a nonbasic land has an ability that causes it to enter the battlefield tapped, it will lose that ability before it applies. The same is also true of any other abilities that modify how a land enters the battlefield or apply "as" a land enters the battlefield, such as the first ability of Cavern of Souls.

Lands you control are Plains. Nonland permanents you control are white. The same is true for spells you control and nonland cards you own that aren't on the battlefield. You may spend white mana as though it were mana of any color. You may spend other mana only as though it were colorless mana.

    Rules

  • Mycosynth Lattice turns all permanents on the battlefield into artifacts. Spells on the stack and cards in other zones aren’t permanents, so those spells and cards don’t become artifacts.
  • Mycosynth Lattice’s second ability makes everything, in every zone of the game, colorless.
  • The Lattice’s third ability lets players spend even colorless mana as though it had a color. However, it doesn’t remove restrictions on the mana. For example, Mycosynth Lattice doesn’t allow mana from Vedalken Engineer to be used to cast a nonartifact spell.
  • The Lattice’s first ability causes Auras to become artifacts. Combined with March of the Machines from the Mirrodin set, this can then make those Auras become creatures. An Aura that’s also a creature can’t enchant anything. It’s unattached the next time state-based actions are checked, and then immediately put into its owner’s graveyard as a second state-based action.

  • Each card becomes a new object as it changes zones, so this effect will apply to it from scratch in the new zone. Zone-change replacement abilities that care about the new color (like "[color] permanents enter tapped") won't work because those effects are applied as the card is entering its new zone. Zone-change triggered abilities that care about the new color (like "when a [color] permanent enters" or "when you cast a [color] spell") will work because those effects apply after the card is already in its new zone.
  • If something affected by Painter's Servant is normally colorless, it will simply be the new color. It won't be both the new color and colorless.
  • The effects of multiple Painter's Servants are cumulative.
  • This ability affects every card in every game zone, all tokens on the battlefield, and all spell copies on the stack, regardless of who controls or owns them.
  • This ability doesn't overwrite any previous colors. Rather, it adds another color.
  • While Painter's Servant is on the battlefield, an effect that changes an object's colors will overwrite Painter's Servant's effect. For example, casting Cerulean Wisps on a creature will turn it blue, regardless of the color chosen for Painter's Servant.

  • Each land you control will have the land types Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest. They’ll also have the mana ability of each basic land type (for example, Forests can tap to produce {G}). They’ll still have their other subtypes and abilities.
  • Giving a land extra basic land types doesn’t change its name or whether it’s legendary or basic.
