"Find me cards equivalent to: Phenomenon Investigators"

Equivalent cards to Phenomenon Investigators (type: Creature — Human Detective, colors: B, U) are:
1. Teysa Karlov (B, W): Boosts death triggers and creates tokens when creatures die. (Closest to the Believe mode, but different color.)
2. Pitiless Plunderer (B): Creates Treasure tokens when your creatures die.
3. Siren Stormtamer (U): Sacrifices itself for protection, less directly related.
4. Nim Deathmantle (Colorless, but fits in B/U decks): Recurs nontoken creatures that die, creating board value.
5. Muldrotha, the Gravetide (B, U, G): Recurs permanents from graveyard.
6. Syr Konrad, the Grim (B): Triggers on creatures dying or leaving your graveyard.

No exact equivalents exist, but Pitiless Plunderer (creature death triggers) and Nim Deathmantle (recursion) are closest for Believe; Cyclonic Rift (U) or Crystal Shard (U) interact with bouncing your own permanents for Doubt, but non-creature. All are black or blue, or usable in B/U decks.

    Overload

    Rules

  • Because a spell with overload doesn't target when its overload cost is paid, it may affect permanents with hexproof or with protection from the appropriate color.
  • If you are instructed to cast a spell with overload "without paying its mana cost," you can't choose to pay its overload cost instead.
  • If you don't pay the overload cost of a spell with overload, that spell will have a single target. If you pay the overload cost, the spell won't have any targets.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as an overload cost), add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.

    Rules

  • For example, you may cast an artifact creature spell as your artifact spell and cast another artifact creature spell as your creature spell.
  • If a permanent card is put into your graveyard during your main phase and the stack is empty, you have a chance to cast it before any player may attempt to remove that card from your graveyard.
  • If multiple effects allow you to play a card from your graveyard, you must announce which permission you're using as you begin to play the card.
  • If you play a card from your graveyard and then have a new Muldrotha come under your control in the same turn, you may play another land or spell of that type from your graveyard that turn.
  • Once you begin to cast a spell, losing control of Muldrotha won't affect the spell.
  • Use the type of the card as it's played or cast to determine which permanent type to count it as. For example, if you cast a creature spell from your graveyard, you can cast a card with bestow as an enchantment spell.
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions of the cards you play from your graveyard. For example, you can't use Muldrotha to play a land if you don't have an available land play or to cast a planeswalker spell during your end step.
  • You must pay the costs to cast a spell this way. If it has an alternative cost, you may cast it for that cost instead.

    Equip

    Rules

  • If multiple nontoken creatures are put into your graveyard from the battlefield at the same time, Nim Deathmantle's second ability triggers that many times. You put the triggered abilities on the stack in any order, so you'll determine in which order they resolve. If you pay {4} more than once, each card you paid {4} for will end up on the battlefield under your control, and Nim Deathmantle will end up attached to the last card that returned to the battlefield this way that it could equip.
  • If the nontoken creature that caused Nim Deathmantle's second ability to trigger is somehow removed from your graveyard before that ability resolves, you may still pay {4} as it resolves. Even if you do, however, no card will be returned to the battlefield.
  • Nim Deathmantle causes the equipped creature to be a black Zombie even if it didn't return that creature to the battlefield from the graveyard.
  • Nim Deathmantle's color-changing and type-changing effects override the equipped creature's previous colors and creature types. After Nim Deathmantle becomes equipped to a creature, that creature will be a black Zombie, not any other colors or creature types.
  • Nim Deathmantle's second ability may return a card it can't equip to the battlefield. For example, if a nontoken artifact that's become a creature is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, Nim Deathmantle's second ability triggers. If you pay {4} as it resolves, you'll return that card to the battlefield. However, Nim Deathmantle can't equip it, so Nim Deathmantle remains attached to whatever it was already equipping (or, if it was unattached, it remains so). The same is true if a nontoken creature with protection from artifacts is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, for example.
  • Once Nim Deathmantle becomes unattached from a creature, its color-changing and type-changing effects stop affecting that creature. The creature will no longer be black and will no longer be a Zombie (unless its printed characteristics or some other effects still cause it to be black and/or a Zombie, of course). This is true even if Nim Deathmantle returned that creature to the battlefield from the graveyard.
  • Once Nim Deathmantle returns a card from your graveyard to the battlefield, it will remain on the battlefield indefinitely, even if Nim Deathmantle becomes unattached from it.
  • You choose whether to pay {4} as Nim Deathmantle's second ability resolves. Although players may respond to this ability, once it begins to resolve and you decide whether to pay, it's too late for players to respond.

Teysa Karlov #1235 Legendary Creature — Human Advisor

    Info

  • Advisor
  • Languages:
    Layout:
    Normal
    Rank:
    Saltiness:

    Rules

  • An ability that triggers on an event that causes a creature to die doesn't trigger twice. For example, an ability that triggers “whenever you sacrifice a creature” triggers only once.
  • An ability that triggers when a creature “leaves the battlefield” will trigger twice if that creature leaves the battlefield by dying.
  • If a creature dying at the same time as Teysa (including Teysa itself dying) causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
  • If a creature dying at the same time that another permanent you control leaves the battlefield causes a triggered ability of that permanent to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
  • If you somehow control two Teysas, a creature dying causes abilities to trigger three times, not four. A third Teysa causes abilities to trigger four times, a fourth causes abilities to trigger five times, and so on. This also means that if you control Teysa and cast a second one, an ability that triggers when it dies due to the “legend rule” triggers three times.
  • Look at each creature as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects, to determine whether any triggered abilities will trigger multiple times. For example, if a land that has become a creature dies, an ability that triggers when it dies triggers twice.
  • Teysa affects a creature's own “when this creature dies” triggered abilities as well as other triggered abilities that trigger when that creature dies. Such triggered abilities start with “when” or “whenever.”
  • Teysa's effect doesn't copy the triggered ability; it just causes the ability to trigger twice. Any choices made as you put the ability onto the stack, such as modes and targets, are made separately for each instance of the ability. Any choices made on resolution, such as whether to pay a cost for that triggered ability, are also made separately.
  • The trigger event doesn't have to specifically refer to “creatures.” In these cases, the trigger event may also refer to something being “put into a graveyard from the battlefield.” For example, an ability that triggers “whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard from the battlefield” would trigger twice if an artifact creature dies while Teysa Karlov is on the battlefield.
