"Find me cards equivalent to: Socketed Sprocketer"

Equivalent cards (blue artifact creatures with some die-rolling or counter manipulation abilities) include:

  • Socketed Sprocketer (your reference card)
  • Servo Schematic (blue artifact, enters/makes tokens; not die-rolling but has artifact synergies)
  • Master of Etherium (blue artifact creature, gets bigger from other artifacts)
  • Vedalken Humiliator (blue, affects creatures with counters, though not exactly dice)
  • Clockwork Servant (colorless, but blue-adjacent for decks, counters focus)

Note: No Standard-legal or regular Magic blue artifact creatures exactly interact with die-rolling like Socketed Sprocketer, as that is from Unstable (an Un-set). Most blue artifact creatures manipulate counters or interact with artifacts but do not roll dice. Un-set cards like Kindly Cognician and Infinity Elemental come close in spirit but not rules/text.

Short reason: No exact equivalents in regular sets; closest blue artifact creatures manipulate counters or have activated abilities related to drawing or artifacts.

  • Adamant effects check what mana was actually spent to cast a spell. If an effect allows you to spend mana “as though it were mana” of any color or type, that allows you to spend mana you couldn't otherwise spend, but it doesn't change what mana you spent to cast the spell.
  • If an effect allows you to cast a spell without paying its mana cost, you can't choose to cast it and pay unless another rule or effect allows you to cast that spell for a cost. Similarly, you can't waive a cost reduction unless that effect says you may.
  • If you copy a spell that has an adamant ability, no mana was spent to cast the copy at all, so that ability won't apply.

  • If an effect sets your life total to a specific number, it will be that number, even if you previously had infinite life.
  • If you give Infinity Elemental lifelink and it deals damage, you will gain infinite life. You might think infinite life sounds like a lot, and you’d be right. Once at infinite life, your life total mostly can’t change (see below). At infinite life and gain 2 life? You’re at infinite life. At infinite life and lose 29 life? You’re at infinite life. You can pay any amount of life and still be at infinite life. In fact, if you’re at infinite life and get with an opposing Infinity Elemental, you’d still be at infinite life.
  • If you’re at infinite life and attempt to draw a card from an empty library . . . you lose. You’re not immortal.
  • Infinity Elemental’s power is incalculable. Infinity Elemental has the greatest power among creatures on the battlefield (and off the battlefield for that matter), although it will tie with other Infinity Elementals. Gaining or losing power is meaningless to it, although effects that set its power to another number will still work.
  • Through various other cards, you can convert the infinite power of Infinity Elemental into other resources. For example, you could have infinite mana or create infinite tokens. You could draw infinite cards, but that many card don’t exist, so it’s probably not a great idea. Forcing another player to draw infinite cards, on the other hand . . . .

  • As long as Master of Etherium is on the battlefield, its ability will count itself.
  • Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to Master of Etherium may become lethal if other artifacts you control leave the battlefield during that turn, and damage dealt to other artifact creatures you control may become lethal if Master of Etherium leaves the battlefield during that turn.

  • The first ability lets you roll a six-sided die and put that result on Socketed Sprocketer. This basically saves that result for later use. Say you roll a 5. Put the die on Socketed Sprocketer with the 5 face up. Later in the game, when you roll another die, you can choose to use the 5 instead of the result. (You'll see the result before having to decide.) If you have a 6 installed on Socketed Sprocket, you can just uninstall it to draw a card. If you do this, the 6 is gone and can't be used to replace a future die roll.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • All creatures your opponents control are affected by Vedalken Humiliator's ability, not just those controlled by the player it's attacking.
  • Any power- or toughness-modifying effects (those that give +N/+N, for example) and counters will apply to the creature's new base power and toughness, even if they started to apply before Vedalken Humiliator's ability resolved.
  • If you don't control three artifacts as Vedalken Humiliator's ability resolves, it has no effect. If you do, the effect continues to apply even if you lose control of Vedalken Humiliator or your artifacts later in the turn.
  • Vedalken Humiliator's ability affects only creatures your opponents control at the time it resolves. Creatures they begin to control later in the turn won't lose power, toughness, or abilities.
  • Vedalken Humiliator's ability overwrites all previous effects that set an affected creature's base power and toughness to specific values. Any power- or toughness-setting effects that start to apply to a creature after the ability resolves will overwrite this effect.
