"Find me cards equivalent to: Steamfloggery"

There are no exact equivalents to Steamfloggery since assembling Contraptions and rolling dice are both unique to Un-sets. However, here are a few similar red instants that involve dice or randomness:
1. Goblin Game — (Sorcery, but red, deals with randomness and goblins)
2. Boil-Breacher — (Un-card, red instant, references dice rolling)
3. Krark's Other Thumb — (Legendary artifact, not instant, but interacts with dice rolling)

Closest equivalent:
There isn't a direct analog to Steamfloggery with instant speed, red color, and assembling Contraptions. Un-set cards are uniquely wacky and rarely fully replicated.

Reason:
Contraption assembling is exclusive to the Unstable set, and mainstream MTG does not support Contraptions. For dice-rolling instants, look at Un-sets (like Socketed Sprocketer), but you won't find perfect matches.

  • When it comes to choice of items, use common sense. Items should be small enough to hide but large enough to count. Make it clear what kind of object you are hiding beforehand. For example, one player may choose coins and the other may choose dice. If you can’t find something convenient to hide, write numbers on a piece of paper and reveal the numbers. Make sure the numbers are unambiguous (for example, underline a 6 or 9 so it can’t be misread).
  • If you attempt to halve a negative life total, you halve 0. This means that the life total stays the same. A life total of -10 would remain -10.

Each player hides at least one item, then all players reveal them simultaneously. Each player loses life equal to the number of items they revealed. The player who revealed the fewest items then loses half their life, rounded up. If two or more players are tied for fewest, each loses half their life, rounded up.

  • If the die roll includes a physical component, such as Ol’ Buzzbark caring where the dice land, roll two dice for each one you would roll. You may need to use colored dice to keep each pair of dice clear so you can ignore one roll from each pair.
  • If you are instructed to roll multiple dice, roll two for each one and choose which one counts.
  • Krark’s Other Thumb applies to rerolls as well.
  • Krark’s Other Thumb works with any die you’re instructed or allowed to roll.
  • The ignored roll never happened as far as any other effect is concerned. For example, an ability that triggers “whenever you roll a die” won’t trigger for the ignored roll.

If you would roll a die, instead roll two of those dice and ignore one of those results.

  • The first ability lets you roll a six-sided die and put that result on Socketed Sprocketer. This basically saves that result for later use. Say you roll a 5. Put the die on Socketed Sprocketer with the 5 face up. Later in the game, when you roll another die, you can choose to use the 5 instead of the result. (You'll see the result before having to decide.) If you have a 6 installed on Socketed Sprocket, you can just uninstall it to draw a card. If you do this, the 6 is gone and can't be used to replace a future die roll.

Roll a six-sided die. Assemble a number of Contraptions equal to the result. (To assemble a Contraption, put the top card of your Contraption deck face up onto one of your sprockets.)
