5 Cards Found

AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Swift Reconfiguration

Equivalent cards (white, aura, similar effect: turning creatures into noncreatures or disabling them):
1. Pacifism — prevents attacking/blocking.
2. Darksteel Mutation — makes the creature a 0/1 indestructible bug.
3. Oubliette (black, closest color shift in Modern frame: Ipnu Rivulet for blue permanent exile, but not exact).

Swift Reconfiguration is unique in turning creatures into Vehicles, but the above cards restrict or remove creature abilities similarly.

    Rules

  • Darksteel Mutation causes the enchanted creature to lose all abilities except indestructible at the time it becomes enchanted. Any abilities the creature gains after that point will work normally.
  • Darksteel Mutation doesn't affect the enchanted creature's colors, if any. It will continue to be whatever color or colors it was before Darksteel Mutation entered the battlefield.
  • Darksteel Mutation overwrites any previous effects that set the enchanted creature's power or toughness to a specific value. Any such effects that start to apply after Darksteel Mutation entered the battlefield will work normally.
  • Darksteel Mutation overwrites the printed power and toughness of the enchanted creature, as well as any characteristic-defining abilities that define power and/or toughness.
  • However, Darksteel Mutation does not overwrite effects that change the enchanted creature's power or toughness without setting it to a specific value (such as the ones created by Giant Growth or Glorious Anthem). It also won't overwrite the effect of counters.
  • In some rare cases, the creature may have subtypes other than creature types before becoming enchanted with Darksteel Mutation. If it had any other artifact subtypes (such as Equipment), it will retain those. If it had any subtypes other than artifact types and creature types (such as Shrine), it won't retain those.
  • The creature will keep any supertypes it previously had. Notably, if Darksteel Mutation is enchanting a legendary creature, that creature will continue to be legendary. Also, if it's enchanting a commander, that creature will continue to be a commander.
  • The enchanted creature will be only an artifact and a creature, not any other card types. It will be only an Insect, not any other creature types.

  • If a Desert has an ability with a cost of "Sacrifice a Desert," you can sacrifice that Desert to pay the cost for its own ability.

    Rules

  • A creature phased out by Oubliette doesn't phase in during its controller's untap step as normal. Rather, it phases in immediately after Oubliette leaves the battlefield.
  • Abilities that trigger when a creature becomes tapped won't trigger when the creature phases in tapped.
  • Any continuous effects with a “for as long as” duration such as that of Awakener Druid ignore phased-out objects. Any such effects will expire if their conditions are no longer met after ignoring the phased-out objects.
  • Any one-shot effects that are waiting “until [this] leaves the battlefield,” such as that of Kitesail Freebooter, won't happen when a permanent phases out.
  • Choices made for permanents as they entered the battlefield are remembered when they phase in.
  • Each Aura and Equipment attached to a permanent that's phasing out also phases out. They will phase in with that permanent and still be attached to it. Similarly, permanents that phase out with counters phase in with those counters.
  • If Oubliette leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, the target creature won't be phased out or tapped.
  • Phasing out doesn't cause any “leaves the battlefield” abilities to trigger. Similarly, phasing in won't cause any “enters the battlefield” abilities to trigger.
  • While a permanent is phased out, it's treated as though it doesn't exist. It can't be the target of spells or abilities, its static abilities have no effect on the game, its triggered abilities can't trigger, it can't attack or block, and so on.

When this enchantment enters, target creature phases out until this enchantment leaves the battlefield. Tap that creature as it phases in this way. (Auras and Equipment phase out with it. While permanents are phased out, they're treated as though they don't exist.)

    Rules

  • If Swift Reconfiguration becomes attached to a creature that is also a planeswalker, that permanent loses its planeswalker type. Its controller may still activate its loyalty abilities as normal, but it can't be attacked and damage dealt to it doesn't remove loyalty counters.
  • If Swift Reconfiguration becomes attached to a creature that is also an Equipment, that permanent becomes a Vehicle and loses the Equipment subtype. If it is attached to a creature, it becomes unattached from that creature.
  • If the enchanted permanent was attacking or blocking (or being attacked if it's a planeswalker) when Swift Reconfiguration becomes attached to it, that permanent is removed from combat.
  • The permanent keeps all of its abilities. Notably, if Swift Reconfiguration enchants a Vehicle, that Vehicle gains crew 5 in addition to any crew abilities it already had.
