    Abilities/Keywords

    Deathtouch

    Rules

  • An effect that instructs you to "cast" a card doesn't allow you to play lands.
  • Casting the card causes it to leave exile. You can't cast it multiple times.
  • Gonti doesn't change when you can cast the exiled card. For example, if you exile a creature card without flash, you can cast it only during your main phase when the stack is empty.
  • If you leave the game, the card remains exiled face down indefinitely. No player may look at it.
  • You may look at and cast that card (and spend mana as though it were mana of any type to do so) even if Gonti leaves the battlefield. If another player gains control of Gonti, that player can't look at or cast the card, and you still can.
  • You pay the costs for the exiled card if you cast it. You may pay alternative costs such as emerge rather than the card's mana cost.
  • The six types of mana are white, blue, black, red, green, and colorless. Snow mana is not a type of mana. Gonti, Lord of Luxury won't let you pay a snow cost using mana produced by a nonsnow source.

Deathtouch When Gonti enters, look at the top four cards of target opponent's library, exile one of them face down, then put the rest on the bottom of that library in a random order. You may cast that card for as long as it remains exiled, and mana of any type can be spent to cast that spell.

    Rules

  • If another player gains control of Kheru Mind-Eater, that player can see all of the exiled cards and may play them. Once a player looks at a face-down exiled card, that player may look at that card any time later in the game.
  • Once you begin to cast an exiled card, losing control of Kheru Mind-Eater won’t affect the spell.
  • The last ability of Kheru Mind-Eater only lets you cast cards exiled by that card. If Kheru Mind-Eater leaves the battlefield, the exiled cards are lost forever.
  • You may play land cards exiled with Kheru Mind-Eater only if you have an available land play this turn.
  • You must pay the costs to cast the exiled cards. If one has an alternative cost, you may cast it for that cost instead.

Menace Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles a card from their hand face down. You may look at cards exiled with this creature, and you may play lands and cast spells from among those cards.

    Rules

  • Any blocking creatures that regenerated during combat will have been removed from combat. Since such creatures are no longer in combat, they cannot be blocking The Wretched, which means you won’t be able to gain control of them.
  • If The Wretched itself regenerated during combat, then it will have been removed from combat. Since it is no longer in combat, there cannot be any creatures blocking it, which means you won’t be able to gain control of any creatures.
  • The ability grants you control of all creatures that are blocking it as the ability resolves. This will include any creatures that were put onto the battlefield blocking it.
  • If The Wretched leaves the battlefield, you no longer control it, so the duration of its control-change effect ends.
  • If you lose control of The Wretched before its ability resolves, you won’t gain control of the creatures blocking it at all.
  • Once the ability resolves, it doesn’t care whether the permanents you gained control of remain creatures, only that they remain on the battlefield.
  • The Wretched’s ability triggers only if it’s still on the battlefield when the end of combat step begins (after the combat damage step). For example, if it’s blocked by a 7/7 creature and is destroyed, its ability won’t trigger at all.
