    Abilities/Keywords

    Regenerate Trample

    Rules

  • Deity of Scars's ability causes it to have more toughness when you activate the ability (as a result of losing a -1/-1 counter) and then puts a regeneration shield on it when the ability resolves. If you activate the ability in advance of Deity of Scars being dealt 5 damage, for example, Deity of Scars will be 6/6 before the damage is dealt to it. It won't use the regeneration shield unless it's dealt more damage that turn.
  • Removing a -1/-1 counter from Deity of Scars is a cost of activating its activated ability. You can't activate the ability if there are no -1/-1 counters on Deity of Scars.
  • You can pay {B/G} and remove a -1/-1 counter to activate the ability any time you want. Deity of Scars doesn't need to be in danger of being destroyed.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Unearth

    Rules

  • Activating a creature card's unearth ability isn't the same as casting the creature card. The unearth ability is put on the stack, but the creature card is not. Spells and abilities that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle) will interact with unearth, but spells and abilities that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul) will not.
  • At the beginning of the end step, a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth is exiled. This is a delayed triggered ability, and it can be countered by effects such as Stifle or Voidslime that counter triggered abilities. If the ability is countered, the creature will stay on the battlefield and the delayed trigger won't trigger again. However, the replacement effect will still exile the creature when it eventually leaves the battlefield.
  • If a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth would leave the battlefield for any reason, it's exiled instead — unless the spell or ability that's causing the creature to leave the battlefield is actually trying to exile it! In that case, it succeeds at exiling it. If it later returns the creature card to the battlefield (as Oblivion Ring or Flickerwisp might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The unearth effect will no longer apply to it.
  • If you activate a card's unearth ability but that card is removed from your graveyard before the ability resolves, that unearth ability will resolve and do nothing.
  • Unearth grants haste to the creature that's returned to the battlefield. However, neither of the "exile" abilities is granted to that creature. If that creature loses all its abilities, it will still be exiled at the beginning of the end step, and if it would leave the battlefield, it is still exiled instead.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • After the kinship ability finishes resolving, the card you looked at remains on top of your library.
  • If the top card of your library is already revealed (due to Magus of the Future, for example), you still have the option to reveal it or not as part of a kinship ability’s effect.
  • If you have multiple creatures with kinship abilities, each triggers and resolves separately. You’ll look at the same card for each one, unless you have some method of shuffling your library or moving that card to a different zone.
  • Kinship is an ability word that indicates a group of similar triggered abilities that appear on _Morningtide_ creatures. It doesn’t have any special rules associated with it.
  • The first two sentences of every kinship ability are the same (except for the creature’s name). Only the last sentence varies from one kinship ability to the next.
  • You don’t have to reveal the top card of your library, even if it shares a creature type with the creature that has the kinship ability.

Kinship — At the beginning of your upkeep, you may look at the top card of your library. If it shares a creature type with this creature, you may reveal it. If you do, create a 2/2 green Wolf creature token.
