"Find me cards equivalent to: Whirling Dervish"

Cards equivalent to Whirling Dervish (green, protection from black, grows with combat damage):
1. Quirion Dryad – Green, grows with non-green spells, not exact but similar.
2. Scavenging Ooze – Green, grows with exiling creatures, situational.
3. Safehold Elite – Green, persists, but not protection or same growth.
4. Gaea's Revenge – Green, can't be countered, has protection from blue.
5. Forgotten Ancient – Green, grows with spells cast, not with combat.

Closest: Whirling Dervish is unique; nothing with all three features, but Quirion Dryad is the nearest for color and growth mechanic. None exactly feature protection from black and combat-damage-based growth.

    Haste

    Rules

  • A Gaea's Revenge spell can be targeted by spells and abilities that would counter it. The part of their effect that would counter Gaea's Revenge won't do anything, but any other effects those spells or abilities may have will still happen, if applicable.
  • Gaea's Revenge's first ability works only while it's a spell on the stack. Gaea's Revenge's last ability works only while it's on the battlefield.
  • Gaea's Revenge's last ability applies to all nongreen spells and abilities from nongreen sources, including ones you control. For example, you can't target it with the equip ability of an Equipment you control (unless the Equipment is somehow green).
  • If a spell is one or more colors, and one of those colors is green, that spell can target Gaea's Revenge.

    Persist

    Rules

  • If a creature with persist stops being a creature, persist will still work.
  • If a creature with persist that has +1/+1 counters on it receives enough -1/-1 counters to cause it to be destroyed by lethal damage or put into its owner’s graveyard for having 0 or less toughness, persist won’t trigger and the card won’t return to the battlefield. That’s because persist checks the creature’s existence just before it leaves the battlefield, and it still has all those counters on it at that point.
  • If a permanent has multiple instances of persist, they’ll each trigger separately, but the redundant instances will have no effect. If one instance returns the card to the battlefield, the next to resolve will do nothing.
  • If a token with no -1/-1 counters on it has persist, the ability will trigger when the token is put into the graveyard. However, the token will cease to exist and can’t return to the battlefield.
  • If multiple creatures with persist are put into the graveyard at the same time (due to combat damage or a spell that destroys all creatures, for example), the active player (the player whose turn it is) puts all of their persist triggers on the stack in any order, then each other player in turn order does the same. The last trigger put on the stack is the first one that resolves. That means that in a two-player game, the nonactive player’s persist creatures will return to the battlefield first, then the active player’s persist creatures do the same. The creatures return to the battlefield one at a time.
  • The persist ability triggers when the permanent is put into a graveyard. Its last known information (that is, how the creature last existed on the battlefield) is used to determine whether it had a -1/-1 counter on it.
  • When a permanent with persist returns to the battlefield, it’s a new object with no memory of or connection to its previous existence.

    Rules

  • If Dunerider Outlaw dealt damage to an opponent who later left the game before that turn's end step, its ability still gives it a +1/+1 counter.
  • Whirling Dervish's triggered ability checks to see if it dealt damage during the turn to an opponent of its current controller. If it dealt damage to player A, then player A takes control of it, the ability doesn't trigger.
  • Whirling Dervish's triggered ability gives it at most one +1/+1 counter each turn, regardless of how many opponents were dealt damage beyond the first.
