"Find me cards equivalent to: Ashes of the Abhorrent"

Equivalent cards to Ashes of the Abhorrent (Enchantment, White, similar effect):
1. Rest in Peace — Exiles cards that go to graveyards; powerful graveyard hate.
2. Tocatli Honor Guard — It's a creature, but white, and stops some graveyard triggers.
3. Hushbringer — Creature, but white; prevents creatures dying from triggering effects.
4. Sanctum Prelate — Prevention, but focuses more on spellcasting restriction (not graveyard-specific).

Closest is Rest in Peace for graveyard hate; nothing else in mono-white combines both effects exactly.

  • Activated abilities contain a colon. They’re generally written “[Cost]: [Effect].” Some keyword abilities (such as embalm from the Amonkhet set) are activated abilities and will have colons in their reminder text. Triggered abilities (starting with “when,” “whenever,” or “at”) are unaffected by Ashes of the Abhorrent.
  • Ashes of the Abhorrent doesn’t stop players from playing land cards from the graveyard if an effect allows them to do so.
  • If a creature dies at the same time that Ashes of the Abhorrent is destroyed, you’ll gain 1 life.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Flying Lifelink

    Rules

  • A creature entering the battlefield or dying at the same time as Hushbringer (including Hushbringer itself entering or dying) won't cause abilities to trigger.
  • Abilities that apply "as [this creature] enters the battlefield," such as choosing a color with Diamond Knight, are unaffected.
  • An ability that triggers on an event that causes a creature to die will still trigger. For example, an ability that triggers "whenever you sacrifice a creature" still triggers.
  • An ability that triggers when a card is put into a graveyard "from anywhere" may still trigger even if a creature dies. It will trigger if the ability is of a dying creature that triggers only when that creature is put into a graveyard from anywhere, if Hushbringer is the card being put into a graveyard, or if Hushbringer leaves the battlefield at the same time as the dying creature.
  • An ability that triggers when a creature "leaves the battlefield" won't trigger if that creature leaves the battlefield by dying.
  • Hushbringer affects a creature's own triggered abilities as well as other triggered abilities that trigger when that creature enters the battlefield or dies. Such triggered abilities start with "when" or "whenever."
  • Look at each permanent as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects that apply to it after entering or before dying, to determine whether any triggered abilities will be stopped from triggering. For example, if a land that has become a creature dies, an ability that triggers when it dies doesn't trigger.
  • Replacement effects are unaffected by Hushbringer's ability. For example, a creature that enters the battlefield with one +1/+1 counter on it will still receive a +1/+1 counter, and Leyline of the Void will still exile creatures that would die.
  • The trigger event doesn't have to specifically refer to "creatures." In these cases, the trigger event may also refer to something being "put into a graveyard from the battlefield." For example, an ability that triggers "whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" won't trigger if an artifact creature dies while Hushbringer is on the battlefield.

    Rules

  • If Rest in Peace is destroyed by a spell, Rest in Peace will be exiled and then the spell will be put into its owner's graveyard.
  • If a card is discarded while Rest in Peace is on the battlefield, abilities that function when a card is discarded (such as madness) still work, even though that card never reaches a graveyard. In addition, spells or abilities that check the characteristics of a discarded card (such as Chandra Ablaze's first ability) can find that card in exile.
  • While Rest in Peace is on the battlefield, abilities that trigger whenever a creature dies won't trigger because cards and tokens are never put into a player's graveyard.

  • Effects that increase or reduce the cost to cast a spell don't affect that spell's mana value.
  • For spells with {X} in their mana costs, use the value chosen for X to determine if the spell's mana value is the chosen number. For example, if the chosen number is 4, a noncreature spell with mana cost {X}{R}{R} couldn't be cast with X equal to 2, but it could be cast with X equal to any other number.

    Rules

  • If Tocatli Honor Guard and another creature enter the battlefield at the same time, neither creature entering the battlefield will cause triggered abilities to trigger.
  • Look at the permanent as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects, to determine whether any triggered abilities will trigger. For example, if you control March of the Machines, which says, in part, “Each noncreature artifact is an artifact creature,” each artifact will be a creature at the time it enters the battlefield and will not cause triggered abilities to trigger.
  • Replacement effects, such as a permanent entering the battlefield tapped or with counters on it, are unaffected. Abilities that apply “as [this creature] enters the battlefield” are replacement effects.
  • The trigger event doesn’t have to specify “creatures” entering the battlefield. For example, Contraband Kingpin has an ability that says “Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, scry 1.” If an artifact creature enters the battlefield under your control, that ability won’t trigger. If a noncreature artifact enters the battlefield under your control, the ability will trigger.
  • Tocatli Honor Guard’s ability stops a creature’s own enters-the-battlefield triggered abilities as well as other triggered abilities that would trigger when a creature enters the battlefield. This includes abilities that would trigger when Tocatli Honor Guard itself enters the battlefield.
  • Triggered abilities use the word “when,” “whenever,” or “at.” They’re usually written as “[Trigger condition], [effect].”
