"Find me cards equivalent to: Cauldron of Essence"

Cards similar to Cauldron of Essence (Artifact, Black & Green, lifedrain on death + graveyard recursion):
1. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord (B, G) — Sacrifice and graveyard recursion synergy, drains life when creatures are sacrificed.
2. Phyrexian Altar (Colorless) — Sacrifice outlet, enables combos and recursion.
3. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed (B) — Recursion & lifedrain with undying, somewhat similar synergy.
4. Whip of Erebos (B) — Life link to creatures, returns creatures from graveyard to battlefield, but exiles them at end.
5. Svogthos, the Restless Tomb (G, B) — Recursion theme as a land, not direct lifedrain.

Closest in B/G: Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord.

Reason: Both offer graveyard recursion and life loss for opponents when sacrificing creatures.

  • If one or more creatures you control die at the same time that Cauldron of Essence leaves the battlefield, its first ability triggers once for each of those creatures.

  • Jarad's first ability applies only when Jarad is on the battlefield.
  • The life loss is based on the power of the sacrificed creature as it last existed on the battlefield.
  • To activate Jarad's last ability, you must sacrifice two lands. It doesn't matter what other land types the two lands have, as long as one is a Swamp and one is a Forest. Even if one of the lands you sacrifice is both a Swamp and a Forest, you have to sacrifice another land that is a Swamp or a Forest.
  • You can sacrifice any land with the land type Swamp or Forest, not just ones named Swamp or Forest. For example, you could sacrifice two Overgrown Tombs.

    Rules

  • Any damage dealt to you by a Human will cause Mikaeus’s ability to trigger, including noncombat damage dealt to you by a Human and damage dealt to you by a Human you control.
  • If a Human deals damage to you at the same time that Mikaeus is dealt lethal damage, Mikaeus’s triggered ability triggers. That Human will be destroyed even though Mikaeus has left the battlefield.
  • If a non-Human creature you control without a +1/+1 counter dies at the same time as Mikaeus, that creature’s undying ability granted by Mikaeus triggers and will return it to the battlefield.
  • The +1/+1 bonus that Mikaeus gives to other non-Human creatures you control isn’t a counter. It won’t prevent undying from triggering.

  • While animated, Svogthos’s power and toughness changes each time a creature card enters or leaves its controller’s graveyard.
  • A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its {T} abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
  • Activating the ability that turns it into a creature while it’s already a creature will override any effects that set its power and/or toughness to a specific number. However, any effect that raises or lowers power and/or toughness (such as the effect created by Giant Growth, Glorious Anthem, or a +1/+1 counter) will continue to apply.

    Rules

  • At the beginning of the next end step, the creature returned to the battlefield with Whip of Erebos is exiled. This is a delayed triggered ability. If the ability is countered, the creature will stay on the battlefield and the delayed trigger won't trigger again. However, the replacement effect will still exile the creature when it eventually leaves the battlefield.
  • If a creature returned to the battlefield with Whip of Erebos would leave the battlefield for any reason, it's exiled instead. However, if that creature is already being exiled, then the replacement effect won't apply. If the spell or ability that exiles it later returns it to the battlefield (as Chained to the Rocks might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The effects from Whip of Erebos will no longer apply to it.
  • The exiled creature is never put into the graveyard. Any abilities the creature has that trigger when it dies won't trigger.
  • Whip of Erebos grants haste to the creature that's returned to the battlefield. However, neither of the "exile" abilities is granted to that creature. If that creature loses all its abilities, it will still be exiled at the beginning of the end step, and if it would leave the battlefield, it is still exiled instead.
