"Find me cards equivalent to: Cosi's Trickster"

Equivalent cards to Cosi's Trickster (Creature, Merfolk/Wizard, Blue, benefits from opponent shuffling):

  • Nadir Kraken (Whenever you draw a card, may pay: put +1/+1 counter)
  • Chasm Skulker (Whenever you draw a card, put +1/+1 counter)

No other blue creatures specifically get +1/+1 counters for opponent shuffling. Cosi's Trickster is unique in this regard. Both above are blue, merfolk or squid, and accumulate +1/+1 counters through triggered ability, although on a different trigger (drawing cards).

    Rules

  • If enough -1/-1 counters are put on Chasm Skulker at the same time to make its toughness 0 or less, the number of +1/+1 counters on it before it got any -1/-1 counters will be used to determine how many Squid tokens you get. For example, if there are two +1/+1 counters on Chasm Skulker and it gets three -1/-1 counters, you'll get two Squid tokens.
  • If you draw multiple cards, the first ability will trigger that many times. Each of these abilities will cause a +1/+1 counter to be put on Chasm Skulker.

    Rules

  • Cosi’s Trickster’s ability triggers when an opponent shuffles their library because that player was instructed to do so by a spell or ability that specifically contains the word “shuffle” in its text or (in the case of a keyword ability) in its rules.
  • If an opponent’s library is empty or has just a single card in it when a spell or ability instructs that player to shuffle their library, Cosi’s Trickster’s ability will still trigger.
  • The cascade ability doesn’t cause a player to shuffle their library, even if that player revealed their entire library. The revealed cards are put on the bottom of their owner’s library in a random order, but they’re not “shuffled.”
