"Find me cards equivalent to: Crooked Scales"

Equivalent cards to Crooked Scales (Artifact, colorless, coin flip, destroy creature) are:
1. Scepter of Fugue – Colorless artifact that can force discard (not exactly destroy, but repeatable removal).
2. Soul-Scar Lantern – Colorless artifact, reusable graveyard removal (not direct creature removal, but disruptive).
3. Tawnos's Coffin – Colorless artifact, repeatable exile effect for creatures.

None do the exact coin flip destruction, but Crooked Scales is unique for coin-flip, colorless, creature destruction. Closest true equivalents are still Crooked Scales- itself.

  • If you pay the {3}, you do not choose a new pair of targets when it repeats. This means that if you lose the flip, you have the choice of having your creature destroyed or paying {3} to try again to win the flip. If you lose again, you get the same choice, and so on. You can keep trying to destroy your opponent’s creature as long as you have mana to pay.
  • You choose both targets on activation, so you can only activate this when you can legally choose both targets.

  • The creature returns to the battlefield tapped. It does not return to the battlefield and then tap afterwards.
  • If Tawnos’s Coffin leaves the battlefield before its ability has resolved, it will exile the targeted creature forever, since its delayed triggered ability will never trigger.
  • If the exiled card is returned to the battlefield and, for some reason, it now can’t be enchanted by an Aura that was also exiled by Tawnos’s Coffin, that Aura will remain exiled.
  • If the targeted creature is a token, it will cease to exist after being exiled. Any Auras that were attached to it will remain exiled forever.
  • Because the new wording doesn’t use phasing, the exiled card will suffer from summoning sickness upon its return to the battlefield.
  • The effect doesn’t care what types the card has after it is exiled, only that it have been a creature while on the battlefield.
