  • Display of Power's first ability only functions on the stack. It can still be copied from your graveyard, your hand, or any other zone.

  • If a spell that's copied has an X whose value was determined as it was cast, the copy has the same value of X.
  • If a spell that's copied is modal (that is, it says "Choose one —" or the like), the copy will have the same mode or modes. You can't choose different ones.
  • If you cast Display of Power, you can, at most, make one copy of each instant and sorcery spell on the stack. It's not possible for one Display of Power to copy the same spell multiple times.
  • If you copy multiple spells with Display of Power, you can put the copies on the stack in any order.
  • The copies are created on the stack, so it's not "cast." Creating the copies won't cause abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell to trigger.

  • For spells that can have a variable number of targets, the controller of the copy must use the same number of targets the original spell did.
  • Fork does not let you make non-targeting choices about the spell.
  • Fork will not copy changes made by modifying effects to the spell prior to the use of Fork, such as text-changing effects.
  • Forking a spell with an X in the cost requires you to use the same X value.
  • If mana or other costs need to be spent at resolution of the spell, the player of Fork would still be responsible for paying that cost.
  • If the spell being copied targets a spell on the stack, it is possible to target Fork itself since Fork is still on the stack when you pick the target(s) for the copy. Note that the copy's target will be illegal when it resolves.
  • If you copy a spell for which Buyback has been paid, you get nothing back since the copied spell does not have a card to give you.
  • It does copy the mana symbols in the mana cost for the card it is copying, but it uses its own color definition and not the one from those mana symbols. This is so it maintains its color just like the text says.
  • The Fork card goes to the graveyard when it resolves and leaves the copy on the stack. There is no card representing the copy on the stack.
  • The copy that is placed on the stack is not considered to have been "cast".

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any "as [this permanent] enters the battlefield" or "[this permanent] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the copied creature will also work.
  • If a spell or ability allows you to cast a strive spell without paying its mana cost, you must pay the additional costs for any targets beyond the first.
  • If all of the spell's targets are illegal when the spell tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. If one or more of its targets are legal when it tries to resolve, the spell will resolve and affect only those legal targets. It will have no effect on any illegal targets.
  • If another creature becomes or enters the battlefield as a copy of the token, that creature will have haste, but you won't exile it.   • If the copied creature is copying something else (for example, if the copied creature is a Clone), then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that creature copied.
  • The mana cost and mana value of strive spells don't change no matter how many targets they have. Strive abilities affect only what you pay.
  • The tokens copy exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that permanent is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
  • The tokens see each other enter the battlefield. If any of them have a triggered ability that triggers whenever a creature enters the battlefield, they'll trigger for one another.
  • You choose how many targets each spell with a strive ability has and what those targets are as you cast it. It's legal to cast such a spell with no targets, although this is rarely a good idea. You can't choose the same target more than once for a single strive spell.
