"Find me cards equivalent to: Donate"

Cards equivalent to Donate (Sorcery, Blue, transfers control of a permanent):
1. Donate
2. Harmless Offering (Red, but otherwise identical, so doesn’t fit your color requirement.)

Currently, in blue and as a sorcery, Donate is unique. Blue has creature-based alternatives (like Bazaar Trader) and instant versions (like Exchange of Words), but as for blue sorceries that duplicate Donate, it stands alone.

Reason: Donate is the only blue sorcery with this exact effect.

    Rules

  • If either the targeted player or the targeted permanent is an illegal target by the time the ability resolves, the ability does nothing. The player won’t gain control of the permanent.
  • This effect has no duration. The targeted player retains control of the targeted permanent until the game ends, the permanent leaves the battlefield, or an effect causes someone else to gain control of it.
  • You may target yourself with Bazaar Trader’s ability. Normally, this won’t have any visible effect. However, the ability would override an effect with a limited duration that gave you control of a permanent. For example, if you temporarily gained control of a creature with Act of Treason, targeting yourself and that creature with Bazaar Trader’s ability would then cause you to gain control of the creature indefinitely.

    Rules

  • Exchanging two creatures’ text boxes means that each one loses its rules text and replaces it with the rules text the other one had. In Un- games, this also means the text boxes themselves are exchanged, including the flavor text and watermarks in those text boxes. In both cases, this is a text-changing effect.
  • If Exchange of Words has lost its own abilities (or perhaps its text box), the effect will still only end once it is no longer on the battlefield.
  • If Exchange of Words leaves the battlefield before its enters-the-battlefield ability resolves, the text boxes are never exchanged. Neither creature is ever affected. The same is true if either of the two creatures becomes an illegal target before the enters-the-battlefield ability resolved.
  • Notably, ability stickers (and other granted abilities) aren’t part of the rules text that get exchanged. Any ability stickers on either of the two permanents continue to apply to the permanent they are on.
  • Once the exchange has happened, either of the two creatures leaving the battlefield has no effect on the other creature’s text box. The exchange will only end once Exchange of Words is no longer on the battlefield. Similarly, further changes to either creature’s text box won’t change the other’s text box.
