"Find me cards equivalent to: Eternity Vessel"

There isn’t a perfect equivalent to Eternity Vessel, but here are some similar colorless artifacts that also interact with life total or use charge counters:

  • Eternity Vessel (reference)
  • Solemnity (prevents placing counters, synergy with charge counter themes)
  • Celestial Mantle (not an artifact, but affects life totals)
  • Altar of Shadows (uses charge counters, different effect)
  • Aetherflux Reservoir (artifact, interacts with life total)
  • Helm of the Host (artifact, no counters but powerful life-use combos)

Reason: No other colorless artifact directly sets life total with charge counters and landfall, but those above interact similarly with life or counters.

  • Aetherflux Reservoir's first ability doesn't trigger when you cast Aetherflux Reservoir itself.
  • The first ability counts spells you cast earlier in the turn even if you didn't control Aetherflux Reservoir as you cast them, and even if those spells were countered.
  • The first ability counts the spell that caused it to trigger plus any other spells you cast earlier in the turn.
  • The number of spells you've cast is counted only as Aetherflux Reservoir's triggered ability resolves. For example, if you cast a spell, then respond to the triggered ability with a second spell, you'll gain 4 life total.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Double Enchant

    Rules

  • At the time the ability triggers, determine which creature Celestial Mantle is enchanting. As the ability resolves, determine who currently controls that creature (or, if it’s no longer on the battlefield, determine who controlled it when it left). That’s the player whose life total is doubled. It doesn’t matter who controls Celestial Mantle, who controlled the creature at the time the ability triggered, or what creature Celestial Mantle enchants at the time the ability resolves.
  • If a creature dealing combat damage at the same time as the enchanted creature has lifelink, the life gained due to lifelink happens before Celestial Mantle’s triggered ability resolves.
  • If a player’s life total is doubled, that player actually gains or loses the necessary amount of life. For example, if the life total of the enchanted creature’s controller is 14 when Celestial Mantle’s triggered ability resolves, the ability causes that player to gain 14 life. Other cards that interact with life gain or life loss will interact with this effect accordingly.
  • If the enchanted creature’s controller has a life total below 0 (which is possible if that player controls Platinum Angel, for example), Celestial Mantle’s triggered ability multiplies that number by two. For example, if the player had -4 life, that player’s life total becomes -8.
  • In a Two-Headed Giant game, Celestial Mantle’s essentially doubles the team’s life total. Specifically, the triggered ability will affect one player’s life total, and then the team’s life total is adjusted by the amount of life the player gains as a result of this ability. Suppose a creature enchanted by Celestial Mantle deals combat damage to an opponent, and that creature’s controller’s team has 11 life. That player then has 11 life, so it’s doubled to 22, for a net gain of 11 life. The team’s life total becomes 22 (11 + 11).

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • Eternity Vessel's landfall ability cares only about how many charge counters are on it, not what its controller's life total was as it entered. The number of charge counters may be changed by other spells and abilities.
  • For your life total to become the number of charge counters on Eternity Vessel, you actually gain or lose the necessary amount of life. For example, if your life total is 4 when Eternity Vessel's landfall ability resolves and Eternity Vessel has 12 charge counters on it, the ability will cause you to gain 8 life. Other cards that interact with life gain or life loss will interact with this effect accordingly.
  • In a Two-Headed Giant game, your life total is the same as your team's life total, so Eternity Vessel enters with a number of charge counters on it equal to your team's life total. When its landfall ability resolves, it causes its controller to lose or gain the appropriate amount of life, and the team's life total is adjusted by the amount of life the player gains or loses as a result of this ability. Suppose Eternity Vessel has 15 charge counters on it when its landfall ability resolves, and its controller's team has 11 life. That player's life total is 11, which becomes 15, for a net gain of 4 life. The team's life total becomes 15.
  • A landfall ability doesn't trigger if a permanent already on the battlefield becomes a land.
  • A landfall ability triggers whenever a land you control enters for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.
  • Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of the permanents you control will trigger. You can put them   on the stack in any order. The last ability you put on the stack will be the first one to resolve (As a result, you can have those abilities resolve in the order of your choosing.).

    Rules

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any "as [this creature] enters the battlefield" or "[this creature] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the chosen creature will also work.
  • If the copied creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If the copied creature is a token, the token that's created copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created that token.
  • If the copied creature is copying something else (for example, if the copied creature is a Clone), then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that creature copied.
  • If the equipped creature leaves the battlefield before the triggered ability of Helm of the Host resolves, or if there is no equipped creature, no token is created. However, if Helm of the Host leaves the battlefield while its triggered ability is on the stack, a token will be created of the creature it last equipped. If that creature has also left the battlefield, its last known information is used to determine what the token looks like.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
  • The token gains haste indefinitely, and this effect isn't copiable. If something else copies the token later, that copy won't have haste.
  • The token isn't legendary, and this exception is copiable. If something else copies the token later, that copy also won't be legendary. If you control two or more permanents with the same name but only one is legendary, the "legend rule" doesn't apply.

    Rules

  • Counters can be put on cards that aren't on the battlefield. Notably, suspended cards will still get time counters.
  • Damage from a source with infect has no effect on creatures or players. No -1/-1 counters are put on creatures, and no damage is marked on them. Players don’t get poison counters and they don’t lose life. The damage is still dealt for purposes of effects that care about damage, such as lifelink.
  • Damage from a source with wither has no effect on creatures. No -1/-1 counters are put on them, and no damage is marked on them. The damage is still dealt for purposes of effects that care about damage, such as lifelink.
  • If a creature with tribute is entering the battlefield, the chosen opponent can’t pay tribute even if they want to.
  • If a replacement effect allows a player to modify or replace an event by putting counters on an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land, that player may apply that replacement effect. Counters won’t be put on the object, but if the original event is entirely replaced (such as by applying Soul-Scar Mage’s replacement effect), the original event won’t happen.
  • If an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land would enter the battlefield with counters on it at the same time that Solemnity enters the battlefield, Solemnity doesn’t stop it from getting those counters.
  • If the cost of an ability or an additional cost of a spell requires putting counters on an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land, that cost can’t be paid. If a resolving spell or ability says that a player may put counters on one of those objects, that player can’t choose to do so.
  • Solemnity doesn’t remove any counters players or permanents already have.
  • Solemnity stops counters from being put on an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land as it enters the battlefield, as well as stopping counters from being put on them later.
  • While resolving a cumulative upkeep trigger of a permanent, you’ll fail to put a counter on that permanent, then you may pay for the age counters already on it. If it has no age counters on it, you may pay {0}.
