  • "Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack."
  • A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.
  • If a card with flashback is put into your graveyard during your turn, you can cast it if it's legal to do so before any other player can take any actions.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions.   • If the copied creature is a token, the token that’s created copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created the token.
  • If the copied creature is copying something else, then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that creature copied.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn’t copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.

  • If Followed Footsteps and the enchanted creature leave the battlefield simultaneously (say via Upheaval or Akroma's Vengence somehow cast in response to the triggered ability), then a token copy of the creature that was enchanted when it was last on the battlefield is created. If Followed Foosteps did not enchant a creature when last on the battlefield as it went to the graveyard as a state-based action when the enchanted creature left the battlefield in response to the trigger, then no copy will get created.
  • If Followed Footsteps moves after it has triggered, you get a copy of the newly-enchanted creature.

  • A token that enters the battlefield as a copy of a face-down creature is a face-up colorless 2/2 creature with no name, abilities, or creature types.
  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any “as [this permanent] enters the battlefield” or “[this permanent] enters the battlefield with” abilities of the copied creature will also work.
  • If Mirror Mockery enchants a creature you don’t control, and you are the defending player, you can block with the token.
  • If Mirror Mockery is no longer on the battlefield as its triggered ability resolves, its ability makes a copy of the creature it was enchanting when it left the battlefield. If it left the battlefield because it was no longer enchanting a legal creature, it makes a copy of the creature it was most recently enchanting before it left the battlefield.
  • If Mirror Mockery’s ability creates multiple tokens (due to an effect such as the one Doubling Season creates), all such tokens will be exiled by the delayed triggered ability.
  • If the copied creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be zero.
  • If the copied creature is a token, the token created by Mirror Mockery copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that put the token onto the battlefield.
  • If the copied creature is copying something else, then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that creature copied.
  • Notably, the token won’t be attacking.
  • The ability that exiles the token will trigger at end of combat no matter what happens to the original creature or to Mirror Mockery.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that permanent is copying something else or is a token; see below).
