    Flying Lifelink

    Rules

  • A creature entering the battlefield or dying at the same time as Hushbringer (including Hushbringer itself entering or dying) won't cause abilities to trigger.
  • Abilities that apply "as [this creature] enters the battlefield," such as choosing a color with Diamond Knight, are unaffected.
  • An ability that triggers on an event that causes a creature to die will still trigger. For example, an ability that triggers "whenever you sacrifice a creature" still triggers.
  • An ability that triggers when a card is put into a graveyard "from anywhere" may still trigger even if a creature dies. It will trigger if the ability is of a dying creature that triggers only when that creature is put into a graveyard from anywhere, if Hushbringer is the card being put into a graveyard, or if Hushbringer leaves the battlefield at the same time as the dying creature.
  • An ability that triggers when a creature "leaves the battlefield" won't trigger if that creature leaves the battlefield by dying.
  • Hushbringer affects a creature's own triggered abilities as well as other triggered abilities that trigger when that creature enters the battlefield or dies. Such triggered abilities start with "when" or "whenever."
  • Look at each permanent as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects that apply to it after entering or before dying, to determine whether any triggered abilities will be stopped from triggering. For example, if a land that has become a creature dies, an ability that triggers when it dies doesn't trigger.
  • Replacement effects are unaffected by Hushbringer's ability. For example, a creature that enters the battlefield with one +1/+1 counter on it will still receive a +1/+1 counter, and Leyline of the Void will still exile creatures that would die.
  • The trigger event doesn't have to specifically refer to "creatures." In these cases, the trigger event may also refer to something being "put into a graveyard from the battlefield." For example, an ability that triggers "whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" won't trigger if an artifact creature dies while Hushbringer is on the battlefield.

    Rules

  • If Rest in Peace is destroyed by a spell, Rest in Peace will be exiled and then the spell will be put into its owner's graveyard.
  • If a card is discarded while Rest in Peace is on the battlefield, abilities that function when a card is discarded (such as madness) still work, even though that card never reaches a graveyard. In addition, spells or abilities that check the characteristics of a discarded card (such as Chandra Ablaze's first ability) can find that card in exile.
  • While Rest in Peace is on the battlefield, abilities that trigger whenever a creature dies won't trigger because cards and tokens are never put into a player's graveyard.

When this enchantment enters, exile all graveyards. If a card or token would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead.

    Rules

  • If Tocatli Honor Guard and another creature enter the battlefield at the same time, neither creature entering the battlefield will cause triggered abilities to trigger.
  • Look at the permanent as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects, to determine whether any triggered abilities will trigger. For example, if you control March of the Machines, which says, in part, “Each noncreature artifact is an artifact creature,” each artifact will be a creature at the time it enters the battlefield and will not cause triggered abilities to trigger.
  • Replacement effects, such as a permanent entering the battlefield tapped or with counters on it, are unaffected. Abilities that apply “as [this creature] enters the battlefield” are replacement effects.
  • The trigger event doesn’t have to specify “creatures” entering the battlefield. For example, Contraband Kingpin has an ability that says “Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, scry 1.” If an artifact creature enters the battlefield under your control, that ability won’t trigger. If a noncreature artifact enters the battlefield under your control, the ability will trigger.
  • Tocatli Honor Guard’s ability stops a creature’s own enters-the-battlefield triggered abilities as well as other triggered abilities that would trigger when a creature enters the battlefield. This includes abilities that would trigger when Tocatli Honor Guard itself enters the battlefield.
  • Triggered abilities use the word “when,” “whenever,” or “at.” They’re usually written as “[Trigger condition], [effect].”

    Rules

  • Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to Tymaret may become lethal if your devotion to black decreases during that turn.
  • Colorless and generic mana symbols ({C}, {0}, {1}, {2}, {X}, and so on) in mana costs of permanents you control don't count toward your devotion to any color.
  • Hybrid mana symbols, monocolored hybrid mana symbols, and Phyrexian mana symbols do count toward your devotion to their color(s).
  • If an activated ability or triggered ability has an effect that depends on your devotion to a color, you count the number of mana symbols of that color among the mana costs of permanents you control as the ability resolves. The permanent with that ability will be counted if it's still on the battlefield at that time.
  • If you put an Aura on an opponent's permanent, you still control the Aura, and mana symbols in its mana cost count towards your devotion.
  • Mana symbols in the text boxes of permanents you control don't count toward your devotion to any color.
  • The ability that defines Tymaret's toughness works in all zones, not just the battlefield.

Tymaret's toughness is equal to your devotion to black. (Each in the mana costs of permanents you control counts toward your devotion to black.) : Exile up to two target cards from graveyards. You gain 1 life for each creature card exiled this way.
