"Find me cards equivalent to: Manic Scribe"

Equivalent cards to Manic Scribe (blue creatures that mill):
1. Ruin Crab — Each landfall mills a player for three.
2. Persistent Petitioners — Taps to mill target player for one, extra ability with other Petitioners.
3. Thought Sponge — Not strictly a mill, but benefits from card draw; not directly equivalent but blue, wizard, and graveyard interaction.
4. Baleful Alchemist — Custom/unreleased set; in official cards, hard to find exact equivalent.

Closest: Ruin Crab and Persistent Petitioners — blue creatures with repeatable mill effects.

Reason: Blue, creatures, support mill strategy. True equivalents with delirium ability don't exist; these are functionally closest.

  • Because you consider only the characteristics of a double-faced card's front face while it's not on the battlefield, the types of its back face won't be counted for delirium.
  • In some rare cases, you can have a token or a copy of a spell in your graveyard at the moment that an object's delirium ability counts the card types among cards in your graveyard, before that token or copy ceases to exist. Because tokens and copies of spells are not cards, even if they are copies of cards, their types will never be counted.
  • Most triggered delirium abilities use an intervening "if" clause. There must be four or more card types among cards in your graveyard in order for these abilities to trigger, otherwise they never trigger at all. There's no way to have the ability trigger if there aren't enough card types, even if you intend to raise that number in response to the triggered ability. The number of card types is checked again as the trigger resolves, and if it has become too low somehow, the ability does nothing. If which card types are in your graveyard changes but the quantity of card types stays the same (or increases), then the delirium triggered ability will still resolve.
  • The card types in Magic are artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, instant, kindred, land, planeswalker, and sorcery. Supertypes (such as legendary and basic) and subtypes (such as Human and Equipment) are not counted.
  • The number of card types matters, not the number of cards. For example, Wicker Witch (an artifact creature) along with Catalog (an instant) and Chaplain's Blessing (a sorcery) will enable delirium.
  • The upkeep step is before the draw step, after the untap step. Manic Scribe's delirium ability mills an opponent's library before that player draws a card during their draw step.

  • Advisors that you haven't controlled continuously since your turn began may be tapped to pay for the second ability of Persistent Petitioners. This includes Persistent Petitioners itself on the turn it comes under your control.
  • It's not possible to tap one Persistent Petitioners to activate both its first and second ability, or to activate its second ability and that of another Persistent Petitioners. This means that if you tap four Persistent Petitioners, the target player mills the top twelve cards of their library, not the top forty-eight.
  • The last ability of Persistent Petitioners lets you ignore the "four-of" rule. It doesn't let you ignore format legality. For example, during a Ravnica Remastered Limited event, you can't add Persistent Petitioners from your personal collection, no matter how much they ask.

  • A landfall ability doesn't trigger if a permanent already on the battlefield becomes a land.
  • A landfall ability triggers whenever a land you control enters for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.
  • Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of the permanents you control will trigger. You can put them   on the stack in any order. The last ability you put on the stack will be the first one to resolve (As a result, you can have those abilities resolve in the order of your choosing.).

  • Thought Sponge checks how many cards were drawn by opponents this turn, even opponents who have left the game. The greatest number drawn by a single opponent is how many +1/+1 counters it enters with.
  • Thought Sponge checks the total number of cards drawn by each opponent, not how many were drawn due to a single instruction.
  • Thought Sponge gets its +1/+1 counters at the moment it enters the battlefield. There's not a time that it's on the battlefield before its replacement effect has applied.
  • Use Thought Sponge's power as it last existed on the battlefield to determine how many cards to draw for its last ability. If that number is negative, you neither draw nor discard cards.
