"Find me cards equivalent to: Mastermind's Acquisition"

Equivalent cards (same color, similar function) to Mastermind's Acquisition include:
1. Diabolic Tutor — Searches your library for any card.
2. Demonic Tutor — Searches your library for any card.
3. Solve the Equation — Searches for an instant or sorcery (limited, but close).
4. Wishclaw Talisman — Tutor effect as an artifact.
5. Burning Wish (red) — Gets a sorcery from outside the game.

Reason: All listed black cards are sorceries that tutor from your library; only Mastermind's Acquisition gives the option for an outside-the-game card in mono-black.

  • Can’t acquire the Ante cards. They are considered still “in the game” as are cards in the library and the graveyard.
  • Can’t acquire cards that are phased out.
  • In a sanctioned event, a card that’s “outside the game” is one that’s in your sideboard. In an unsanctioned event, you may choose any card from your collection.
  • You can’t acquire exiled cards because those cards are still in one of the game’s zones.

  • In a casual game, a card you choose from outside the game comes from your personal collection. In a tournament event, a card you choose from outside the game must come from your sideboard. You may look at your sideboard at any time.
  • There are many important moments in the story, but the most crucial—called “story spotlights”—are shown on cards. These cards have the Planeswalker symbol in their text box; this symbol has no effect on gameplay. You can read more about these events in the official Magic fiction at http://www.mtgstory.com.
