AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Mirrormere Guardian

Cards equivalent to Mirrormere Guardian (blue cards that protect or replace themselves) include:

  • Selfless Glyphweaver // Deadly Vanity (has a similar effect in white, as a Human, but not blue)
  • Glen Elendra Archmage (blue, protects via counter)
  • Mausoleum Wanderer (blue, sac for counter)
  • Siren Stormtamer (blue, sac to counter spell targeting you/creature)

Closest in blue specifically by design: Siren Stormtamer (sacrifice to protect another creature).

Reason: Blue typically uses sacrifice or abilities for protection/counter rather than granting indestructible.

    Flying Persist

    Rules

  • If a creature with persist stops being a creature, persist will still work.
  • If a creature with persist that has +1/+1 counters on it receives enough -1/-1 counters to cause it to be destroyed by lethal damage or put into its owner's graveyard for having 0 or less toughness, persist won't trigger and the card won't return to the battlefield. That's because persist checks the creature's existence just before it leaves the battlefield, and it still has all those counters on it at that point.
  • If a permanent has multiple instances of persist, they'll each trigger separately, but the redundant instances will have no effect. If one instance returns the card to the battlefield, the next to resolve will do nothing.
  • If a token with no -1/-1 counters on it has persist, the ability will trigger when the token is put into the graveyard. However, the token will cease to exist and can't return to the battlefield.
  • If multiple creatures with persist are put into the graveyard at the same time (due to combat damage or a spell that destroys all creatures, for example), the active player (the player whose turn it is) puts all of their persist triggers on the stack in any order, then each other player in turn order does the same. The last trigger put on the stack is the first one that resolves. That means that in a two-player game, the nonactive player's persist creatures will return to the battlefield first, then the active player's persist creatures do the same. The creatures return to the battlefield one at a time.
  • The persist ability triggers when the permanent is put into a graveyard. Its last known information (that is, how the creature last existed on the battlefield) is used to determine whether it had a -1/-1 counter on it.
  • When a permanent with persist returns to the battlefield, it's a new object with no memory of or connection to its previous existence.

    Rules

  • As the Ring tempts you, you get an emblem named The Ring if you don't have one. Then your emblem gains its next ability and you choose a creature you control to become (or remain) your Ring-bearer.
  • Each player can have only one emblem named The Ring and only one Ring-bearer at a time.
  • Each time the Ring tempts you, you must choose a creature if you control one.
  • If the creature you choose as your Ring-bearer was already your Ring-bearer, that still counts as choosing that creature as your Ring-bearer for the purpose of abilities that trigger "whenever you choose a creature as your Ring-bearer" or abilities that care about which creature was chosen as your Ring-bearer.
  • Some spells and abilities that cause the Ring to tempt you may require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won't resolve. The Ring won't tempt you.
  • The Ring can tempt you even if you don't control a creature. In this case, abilities that trigger "whenever the Ring tempts you" will still trigger.
  • The Ring gains its abilities in order from top to bottom. Once it gains an ability, it has that ability for the rest of the game.

  • As Deadly Vanity resolves, you choose which creature or planeswalker you are saving. Once the choice is made, there is no window for players to respond before the rest of the creatures and planeswalkers are destroyed.
  • Because Deadly Vanity does not target the permanent you choose to save, you may choose creatures with hexproof or protection from black.
  • You may activate Selfless Glyphweaver’s ability only if Selfless Glyphweaver is on the battlefield. Only creatures you control as that ability resolves will gain indestructible. Creatures that come under your control later in the turn will not.
  • You may choose any creature or planeswalker, even one controlled by an opponent.
  • You must choose a creature or planeswalker if there is one on the battlefield.
