    Rules

  • Crafty Cutpurse won’t retroactively change the control of tokens that have already entered the battlefield.
  • Crafty Cutpurse’s replacement effect is applied before any other replacement effects that would also modify how the token enters the battlefield. For example, if an opponent controls Anointed Procession, your Crafty Cutpurse’s effect applies before that of Anointed Procession and you won’t get twice as many tokens.
  • If a token would be created tapped and attacking, but the token’s controller isn’t an attacking player, that token is created tapped but not attacking. If a token would be created blocking a creature, but the token’s controller isn’t a defending player, that token is created but isn’t blocking.
  • If the effect that creates the token also creates a delayed triggered ability, Crafty Cutpurse doesn’t change who controls that ability. For example, if your opponent activates the ability of Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, that opponent controls the delayed triggered ability. When the ability triggers, that player can’t sacrifice the token, so it remains on the battlefield.
  • If two or more players each have resolved Crafty Cutpurse’s triggered ability and a token would be created, the token’s would-be controller chooses one of the applicable Crafty Cutpurse effects to apply. Then the new would-be controller of the token repeats this process among the remaining Crafty Cutpurse effects, and so on, until there are no more possible such effects to apply. Each effect can be applied to the token only once this way.
  • On the other hand, if the effect that creates the token grants a triggered ability to the token, the player who controls the token at the time the ability triggers will be the player who controls that ability. For example, if your opponent activates the second ability of Jace, Cunning Castaway, the token has the ability. If the ability triggers, you’ll control it, so you’ll have to sacrifice the token.
  • The above procedure means that if each player in a two-player game has resolved Crafty Cutpurse’s triggered ability and one would create a token, it really will enter the battlefield under that player’s control. The token would enter the battlefield under player A’s control, so player B’s effect affects it. Now that token would enter the battlefield under player B’s control, so player A’s effect affects it. Each replacement effect has now been used, so the token will enter the battlefield under player A’s control.

  • If Spellskite leaves the battlefield before its ability resolves or otherwise becomes an illegal target for the target spell or ability before its ability resolves, no targets are changed.
  • If a spell or ability has a variable number of targets, you can't change the number of targets.
  • If a spell or ability has multiple targets but doesn't use the word “target” multiple times, such as the ability of Deepglow Skate, you can only change one of the targets to Spellskite.
  • If changing one target of a spell or ability to Spellskite would make other targets of that spell or ability illegal, that target can't be changed to Spellskite.
  • If the spell or ability has multiple instances of the word “target,” you choose which one target you're changing to Spellskite as Spellskite's ability resolves.
  • You can activate Spellskite's ability even if Spellskite isn't a legal target for the target spell or ability—or even if that spell or ability has no targets. In this case, no targets are changed.

    Morph

    Rules

  • The trigger occurs when you use the Morph ability to turn the card face up, or when an effect turns it face up. It will not trigger on being revealed or on leaving the battlefield.
  • If a spell with split second is on the stack, you can still respond by turning this creature face up and targeting that spell with the trigger. This is because split second only stops players from casting spells or activating abilities, while turning a creature face up is a special action.
  • If a spell or ability targets multiple things, you can't target it with Willbender's triggered ability, even if all but one of those targets have become illegal.
  • If a spell or ability targets the same player or object multiple times, you can't target it with Willbender's ability.
  • You don't choose the new target for the spell until Willbender's triggered ability resolves. You must change the target if possible. However, you can't change the target to an illegal target. If there are no legal targets to choose from, the target isn't changed. It doesn't matter if the original target of that spell has somehow become illegal itself.
