"Find me cards equivalent to: Necromantic Thirst"

Equivalent cards to Necromantic Thirst (black, Enchantment — Aura, graveyard recursion, combat damage trigger):
1. Curiosity (Blue; not black, but similar effect for drawing cards instead of recursion)
2. Curiosity of the Dead (Not an actual card—black versions are rare)
3. Whip of Erebos (Legendary Enchantment Artifact, black; grants lifelink and can return creatures from graveyard)
4. Sinister Strength (Black Aura, but only pumps creature, no recursion)
5. Sinister Concoction (Not an Aura, but interacts with graveyard)

Closest black Aura equivalents: Very few. Necromantic Thirst is unique in black for its color, Aura status, and recursion trigger. Most black enchantments/graveyard recursion don't attach as Auras. Whip of Erebos is similar in recursion effect, but not an Aura.

Summary:
Necromantic Thirst is unique in black; closest equivalent for repeated graveyard recursion is Whip of Erebos, though not an Aura. Most black recursion is on sorceries/instants, not Auras.

  • "You" refers to the controller of Curiosity, which may be different from the controller of the enchanted creature. "An opponent" refers to an opponent of Curiosity's controller.
  • Any damage dealt by the enchanted creature to an opponent will cause Curiosity to trigger, not just combat damage.
  • Curiosity doesn't trigger if the enchanted creature deals damage to a planeswalker or to a battle.
  • If you control Curiosity and it's enchanting an opponent's creature, you won't draw a card when that creature deals damage to you. The creature has to deal damage to one of your opponents for the ability to trigger.
  • You draw one card each time the enchanted creature deals damage to an opponent, no matter how much damage it deals.

  • At the beginning of the next end step, the creature returned to the battlefield with Whip of Erebos is exiled. This is a delayed triggered ability. If the ability is countered, the creature will stay on the battlefield and the delayed trigger won't trigger again. However, the replacement effect will still exile the creature when it eventually leaves the battlefield.
  • If a creature returned to the battlefield with Whip of Erebos would leave the battlefield for any reason, it's exiled instead. However, if that creature is already being exiled, then the replacement effect won't apply. If the spell or ability that exiles it later returns it to the battlefield (as Chained to the Rocks might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The effects from Whip of Erebos will no longer apply to it.
  • The exiled creature is never put into the graveyard. Any abilities the creature has that trigger when it dies won't trigger.
  • Whip of Erebos grants haste to the creature that's returned to the battlefield. However, neither of the "exile" abilities is granted to that creature. If that creature loses all its abilities, it will still be exiled at the beginning of the end step, and if it would leave the battlefield, it is still exiled instead.

Creatures you control have lifelink. , : Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. Activate only as a sorcery.
