"Find me cards equivalent to: Nemesis of Mortals"

Equivalent cards (green creatures with graveyard synergy or monstrosity/cost reduction):

  • Nemesis of Mortals (original card)
  • Ghoultree (cost reduced by creatures in your graveyard)
  • Splinterfright (power/toughness based on creatures in graveyard)
  • Boneyard Mycodrax (power/toughness based on creatures in graveyard)
  • Kessig Cagebreakers (creates Wolves for creatures in graveyard)
  • Bonehoard (not a creature but an equipment that grants p/t for graveyard creatures)
  • Nighthowler (cost doesn't reduce, but p/t scales with graveyards)

Why: These cards are green creatures (or quasi-creatures) that interact with the number of creatures in your graveyard or have synergy with graveyard size, similar to Nemesis of Mortals. None have exactly the same monstrosity ability, but cost or power scaling is functionally comparable.

    Rules

  • Although creature tokens go to the graveyard before ceasing to exist, they never count as creature cards and won't increase the bonus granted by Bonehoard, however briefly.
  • If lethal damage is dealt simultaneously to the equipped creature and another creature, both creatures are put into the graveyard at the same time. The equipped creature won't get an additional bonus from the other creature.
  • If there are no creature cards in any graveyard when Bonehoard's living weapon ability resolves, the Germ will be 0/0 and put into its owner's graveyard.
  • The value of X is calculated continuously as the number of creature cards in graveyards changes.
  • If the Germ token is destroyed, the Equipment remains on the battlefield as with any other Equipment.
  • If the living weapon trigger causes two Germs to be created (due to an effect such as that of Doubling Season), the Equipment becomes attached to one of them. The other will be put into your graveyard and subsequently cease to exist, unless another effect raises its toughness above 0.
  • Like other Equipment, each Equipment with living weapon has an equip cost. You can pay this cost to attach an Equipment to another creature you control. Once the Germ token is no longer equipped, it will be put into your graveyard and subsequently cease to exist, unless another effect raises its toughness above 0.
  • The Germ token enters the battlefield as a 0/0 creature and the Equipment becomes attached to it before state-based actions would cause the token to die. Abilities that trigger as the token enters the battlefield see that a 0/0 creature entered the battlefield.

    Monstrosity

    Rules

  • An ability that triggers when a creature becomes monstrous won't trigger if that creature isn't on the battlefield when its monstrosity ability resolves.
  • Monstrous isn't an ability that a creature has. It's just something true about that creature. If the creature stops being a creature or loses its abilities, it will continue to be monstrous.
  • Neither the cost-reducing ability of Nemesis of Mortals nor the condition of its monstrosity ability can reduce the colored mana requirement of those costs.
  • Once a creature becomes monstrous, it can't become monstrous again. If the creature is already monstrous when the monstrosity ability resolves, nothing happens.
  • Once you declare you're casting Nemesis of Mortals or activating its ability, it's too late for players to try to change the number of creature cards in your graveyard to affect the cost of doing so.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Bestow

    Rules

  • Auras attached to a creature don't become tapped when the creature becomes tapped. Except in some rare cases, an Aura with bestow remains untapped when it becomes unattached and becomes a creature.
  • If a permanent with bestow enters the battlefield by any method other than being cast, it will be an enchantment creature. You can't choose to pay the bestow cost and have it become an Aura.
  • Nighthowler's last ability functions only from the battlefield. In other zones, Nighthowler is a 0/0 enchantment creature.
  • On the stack, a spell with bestow is either a creature spell or an Aura spell. It's never both, although it's an enchantment spell in either case.
  • Unlike other Aura spells, an Aura spell with bestow isn't countered if its target is illegal as it begins to resolve. Rather, the effect making it an Aura spell ends, it loses enchant creature, it returns to being an enchantment creature spell, and it resolves and enters the battlefield as an enchantment creature.
  • Unlike other Auras, an Aura with bestow isn't put into its owner's graveyard if it becomes unattached. Rather, the effect making it an Aura ends, it loses enchant creature, and it remains on the battlefield as an enchantment creature. It can attack (and its {T} abilities can be activated, if it has any) on the turn it becomes unattached if it's been under your control continuously, even as an Aura, since your most recent turn began.
