  • If you cast a spell for which mana may be spent as though it were mana of any color, you may cast it for Jodah's alternative cost and still spend mana as though it were mana of any color.
  • Jodah's ability is an alternative cost to cast a spell. You can't combine this with other alternative costs, such as flashback. You can pay additional costs, such as kicker, in addition to this alternative cost.

    Rules

  • Both Jodah, the Unifier’s triggered ability and the spell cast with that ability resolve before the spell that caused the ability to trigger, even if the original spell was countered in response.
  • If the card has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as the value of X when casting it without paying its mana cost.
  • If the legendary nonland card exiled this way is a modal double-faced card, and the back face is also a nonland card face, you may cast either face, even if the back face isn’t legendary.
  • If you cast a spell “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t choose to cast it for any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those to cast the spell.
  • If you choose not to cast the card, it remains in exile. The rest of the cards will be put on the bottom of your library in a random order.
  • If you exile your entire library without exiling a legendary nonland card with lesser mana value, you will randomize the exiled cards and they again become your library, ending the effect. You will not continue to exile and shuffle your library forever.
  • The legendary nonland card exiled may be cast immediately. If you do not cast it immediately, you don’t get to cast it at a later time.
  • The mana value of the spell that caused the ability to trigger is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was. If that spell had an {X} in its cost, include the chosen value for X when determining its mana value.
  • The types and mana value of a double-faced card in exile are determined by the characteristics of its front face. The mana value of a split card is the total mana value of both halves of the split card added together.
  • You exile the cards face up. All players will be able to see them.

Legendary creatures you control get +X/+X, where X is the number of legendary creatures you control. Whenever you cast a legendary spell from your hand, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a legendary nonland card with lesser mana value. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

    Rules

  • A spell cast using jump-start will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, it's countered, or it leaves the stack in some other way.
  • If an effect allows you to pay an alternative cost rather than a spell's mana cost, you may pay that alternative cost when you jump-start a spell. You'll still discard a card as an additional cost to cast it.
  • If an instant or sorcery card is put into your graveyard during your turn, you'll be able to cast it right away if it's legal to do so, before any player may attempt to remove that card from your graveyard.
  • You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card's type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using jump-start only when you could normally cast a sorcery.

  • If a Dragon you control enters the battlefield attacking, it won’t cause The Ur-Dragon’s last ability to trigger.
  • The Ur-Dragon’s triggered ability resolves after all attackers have been chosen. You can’t attack with some Dragons, put a creature card with haste onto the battlefield, and then attack with that creature. Similarly, any “whenever a creature attacks” abilities of the permanent card you put onto the battlefield won’t trigger.
  • You draw one card for each Dragon you controlled that attacked, even if some of them left the battlefield before The Ur-Dragon’s triggered ability resolves.
  • You may only put one permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield, no matter how many Dragons you attacked with or how many players they attacked.

Eminence — As long as The Ur-Dragon is in the command zone or on the battlefield, other Dragon spells you cast cost less to cast. Flying Whenever one or more Dragons you control attack, draw that many cards, then you may put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield.
