"Find me cards equivalent to: Powerbalance"

There is no official Magic card named Powerbalance. Closest equivalents with similar red enchantment effects are:

  • Wild Magic Surge (but it’s an instant, not an enchantment)
  • Possibility Storm — Red enchantment; whenever a player casts a spell, they exile the spell, then reveal cards until they hit one of the same type, and cast that for free.
  • Experimental Frenzy — Red enchantment; lets you play cards from the top of your library, but not in response to opponent’s spells.

Conclusion: Possibility Storm is most equivalent, though not exactly the same effect. Both are red enchantments that interact with spells and the top of the library.

  • Experimental Frenzy lets you look at the top card of your library whenever you want (with one restriction—see below), even if you don’t have priority. This action doesn’t use the stack. Knowing what that card is becomes part of the information you have access to, just like you can look at the cards in your hand.
  • If the top card of your library changes while you’re casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability, you can’t look at the new top card until you finish doing so. This means that if you cast the top card of your library, you can’t look at the next one until you’re done paying for that spell.
  • You can play a land card on top of your library only if you have available land plays remaining.
  • You can’t cast spells or play lands from your hand, but you may take other actions with those cards (such as discarding them to activate their cycling or bloodrush abilities).
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions of the cards you play from your library.
  • You’ll still pay all costs for a spell you cast from your library, including additional costs. You may also pay alternative costs.

  • Artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, instant, kindred, land, planeswalker, and sorcery are card types. Two cards share a card type if they have at least one card type in common.
  • If Possibility Storm's ability doesn't exile the original spell (perhaps because another Possibility Storm already exiled it), you'll still exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a card that shares a card type with it and have the opportunity to cast that spell.
  • If the spell you cast from exile has X in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as its value.
  • If you cast a spell without paying its mana cost, you can't choose to cast it for any alternative costs, such as overload costs. You can pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the spell has any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.
  • Instant and sorcery cards with miracle allow a player to cast a card immediately upon drawing it. If a player casts a spell this way, the spell is cast from that player's hand. Possibility Storm will trigger.
  • The original spell is part of the group of exiled cards put on the bottom of the library in a random order. If the exiled card that shared a card type with that card wasn't cast, it's also part of this group.

Whenever a player casts a spell from their hand, that player exiles it, then exiles cards from the top of their library until they exile a card that shares a card type with it. That player may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Then they put all cards exiled with this enchantment on the bottom of their library in a random order.

  • A spell's mana value is determined only by its mana cost. Ignore any alternative costs, additional costs, cost increases, or cost reductions.
  • If an opponent casts a spell with {X} in its mana cost, use the value of X that was chosen when it was cast to determine its mana value.
  • If the revealed card has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as the value of X when casting it without paying its mana cost.
  • If you cast a spell "without paying its mana cost," you can't choose to cast it for any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the spell has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast it.
  • In some unusual cases, the card you reveal from the top of your library may not have the same mana value as the spell your opponent cast, but you can still cast that card because the resulting spell does have the same mana value. For example, if an opponent casts a spell with mana value 4 and you reveal Frogmyr Enforcer (a prototype card with mana cost {7} and prototype cost {3}{R}), you can cast Frogmyr Enforcer as a prototyped spell, as that spell will have a mana value of 4.
  • The mana value of a split card not on the stack or a fused split spell on the stack is determined by the combined mana cost of its two halves. Otherwise, while a split card is on the stack, its mana value is determined by the mana cost of the half that was chosen to be cast.
  • You choose whether or not to cast the exiled card as Powerbalance's triggered ability resolves. If you do, you do so as part of the resolution of that ability. You can't wait to cast it later in the turn. Timing restrictions based on the card's type are ignored.

Destroy target permanent an opponent controls. Its controller reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal a permanent card that shares a card type with that permanent. They put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of their library in a random order.
