"Find me cards equivalent to: Preston, the Vanisher"

Equivalent cards to Preston, the Vanisher in white (W), focusing on copying or triggering off-creature entries and token creation, are:

  • Anointed Procession – Doubles token creation (doesn’t copy, but amplifies).
  • Adeline, Resplendent Cathar – Makes white tokens when creatures attack.
  • Felidar Retreat – Makes tokens when landfall occurs, doesn't copy though.
  • Blade of Selves – Gives creatures Myriad, making token copies on attack.
  • Preston, the Vanisher (original card) – Only one that directly copies a nontoken creature entering the battlefield if it wasn't cast.

Reason: True one-to-one equivalents (legendary white creatures copying others upon ETB) are extremely rare or unique; most white creatures and effects make tokens (not copies) or care about creature tokens entering, not copying.

    Rules

  • Although the Human tokens created by the triggered ability are attacking, they were never declared as attacking creatures (for the purposes of abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks, for example).
  • Attacking with any creatures will cause Adeline's last ability to trigger. Adeline doesn't have to be among them.
  • The ability that defines Adeline's power works in all zones, not just the battlefield. As long as Adeline is on the battlefield (and still a creature), that ability will count Adeline itself.
  • Tokens will be created for each of your opponents, not just opponents that you attacked.
  • You choose whether each token is attacking that opponent or a planeswalker they control as those tokens enter the battlefield.

Vigilance Adeline's power is equal to the number of creatures you control. Whenever you attack, for each opponent, create a 1/1 white Human creature token that's tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker they control.

    Rules

  • All of the tokens enter the battlefield simultaneously. They’ll be created with the same name, color, type and subtype, abilities, power, toughness, and so on.
  • If an effect creates more than one kind of token, it’ll create twice as many of each kind. For example, if you cast Bestial Menace while controlling Anointed Procession, you’ll create two Snake tokens, two Wolf tokens, and two Elephant tokens.
  • If the effect creating the tokens instructs you to do something with those tokens at a later time, like exiling them at the end of combat, you’ll do that for all the tokens.
  • If the token you create has any “as [this permanent] enters the battlefield” or “[this permanent] enters the battlefield with” abilities, first determine how many tokens are being created, then apply those abilities individually for each one. For example, if a token with “You may have [this permanent] enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature on the battlefield” would be created (such as an embalmed Vizier of Many Faces), the resulting two tokens can each copy a different creature.
  • If you control two Anointed Processions, then the number of tokens created is four times the original number. If you control three, then the number of tokens created is eight times the original number, and so on.
  • There are many important moments in the story, but the most crucial—called “story spotlights”—are shown on cards. These cards have the Planeswalker symbol in their text box; this symbol has no effect on gameplay. You can read more about these events in the official Magic fiction at http://www.mtgstory.com.

    Equip

    Rules

  • Although the tokens enter the battlefield attacking, they were never declared as attackers. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks won't trigger, including the myriad ability of the tokens. If there any costs to have a creature attack, those costs won't apply to the tokens.
  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any “as [this permanent] enters the battlefield” or “[this permanent] enters the battlefield with” abilities of the copied creature will also work.
  • Each token copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else. It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
  • If a creature has multiple instances of myriad, each triggers separately. You'll get two tokens per opponent other than the defending player.
  • If myriad creates more than one token for any given player (due to an effect such as the one Doubling Season creates), you may choose separately for each token whether it's attacking the player or a planeswalker they control.
  • If the defending player is your only opponent, no tokens are put onto the battlefield.
  • If the equipped creature is legendary, the tokens will all enter the battlefield. Then you'll choose one of them to remain on the battlefield. The others will be put into your graveyard. Any enters-the-battlefield or dies triggers of the tokens will work.
  • If the tokens aren't creatures (perhaps because the equipped creature was an animated land), they'll enter the battlefield but they won't be attacking. You'll still exile those tokens at end of combat.
  • The term “defending player” in the myriad rules (or any other ability of an attacking creature) refers to the player the creature with myriad was attacking at the time it became an attacking creature this combat, or the controller of the planeswalker the creature was attacking at the time it became an attacking creature this combat.
  • The token creatures all enter the battlefield at the same time.
  • You choose whether each token is attacking the player or a planeswalker they control as the token is created.

  • Felidar Retreat's second mode affects only creatures you control at the time the ability resolves, including creatures you control but that for some reason didn't get a +1/+1 counter. Creatures you begin to control later in the turn won't gain vigilance or get a +1/+1 counter.
  • A landfall ability doesn't trigger if a permanent already on the battlefield becomes a land.
  • A landfall ability triggers whenever a land you control enters for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.
  • Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of the permanents you control will trigger. You can put them   on the stack in any order. The last ability you put on the stack will be the first one to resolve (As a result, you can have those abilities resolve in the order of your choosing.).
