"Find me cards equivalent to: Pyre of Heroes"

Equivalent cards to Pyre of Heroes (Colorless Artifact, creature birthing pod-like effect):
1. Birthing Pod – Similar effect, but costs Phyrexian mana and works for any creature, not just shared types.
2. Evolutionary Leap – Sacrifice a creature to reveal cards until you hit another creature, but doesn’t care about mana value or type.
3. Protein Hulk and Pattern of Rebirth – Enable searching for creatures on death, but not restricted to colorless artifacts or exact mana value/type matches.

Short reason: Pyre of Heroes is unique among colorless artifacts for tribal Birthing Pod effects; most similar effects (Birthing Pod) are in green. No direct colorless artifact with perfect equivalence, but Birthing Pod is the closest functional equivalent.

  • A card with Phyrexian mana symbols in its mana cost is each color that appears in that mana cost, regardless of how that cost may have been paid.
  • A creature's mana value is determined solely by the mana symbols printed in its upper right corner (unless that creature is copying something else; see below). If its mana cost includes {X}, X is considered to be 0. If it has no mana symbols in its upper right corner (because it's an animated land, for example), its mana value is 0. Ignore any alternative costs or additional costs (such as kicker) paid when the creature was cast.
  • A token has a mana value of 0, unless it is copying something else.
  • As you cast a spell or activate an activated ability with one or more Phyrexian mana symbols in its cost, you choose how to pay for each Phyrexian mana symbol at the same time you would choose modes or choose a value for X.
  • If a creature is copying something else, its mana value is the mana value of whatever it's copying.
  • If you're at 1 life or less, you can't pay 2 life.
  • Phyrexian mana is not a new color. Players can't produce Phyrexian mana.
  • To calculate the mana value of a card with Phyrexian mana symbols in its cost, count each Phyrexian mana symbol as 1.

  • If a permanent or a card in a library has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • Once you announce that you're activating the activated ability, no player may take actions until the ability has been paid for. Notably, opponents can't try to remove one of your creatures to stop you from sacrificing it.
  • Use the creature types and mana value of the creature you sacrificed as it existed on the battlefield to determine what creature card you can find. Notably, if you sacrifice a creature that's a double-faced permanent with its back face up, you'll use the characteristics of the back face, not the front face.
