"Find me cards equivalent to: Rooftop Storm"

Cards equivalent to Rooftop Storm (blue enchantments that reduce or change creature casting costs) are:
1. Urza's Incubator (colorless, but similar effect, tribal mana reduction)
2. Herald's Horn (colorless, tribal cost reduction)
3. Arcane Melee (U, reduces instant and sorcery costs)
4. Descendants' Path (G, not blue, but similar free-casting for a tribe)

Direct blue enchantment equivalents are rare; Rooftop Storm is unique in its effect for Zombies, and there are no other blue enchantments that let you cast a whole creature type for free. Similar cards mostly reduce costs for tribal spells, but not as drastically.

  • Arcane Melee can reduce alternative costs such as miracle costs.
  • Arcane Melee can’t reduce the colored mana requirement of an instant or sorcery spell.
  • If there are additional costs to cast a spell, such as a kicker cost or a cost imposed by another effect (such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben’s ability), apply those increases before applying cost reductions.
  • The cost to cast an instant or sorcery spell with one generic mana in its mana cost will be reduced by {1}. For example, an instant spell with a mana cost of {1}{G} would cost {G} to cast.

  • If the card has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as its value.
  • If the revealed card is a creature card that shares a creature type with a creature you control, but you choose not to cast it, it's put on the bottom of your library. (This is a recent change.)
  • If you cast a card "without paying its mana cost," you can't pay any alternative costs. You can pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the card has mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.

At the beginning of your upkeep, reveal the top card of your library. If it's a creature card that shares a creature type with a creature you control, you may cast it without paying its mana cost. If you don't cast it, put it on the bottom of your library.

    Rules

  • If you don't put the top card of your library into your hand, you put it back on top of your library without revealing it. You'll draw it in that turn's draw step.
  • If you somehow control a Herald's Horn with no chosen creature type, no spells will cost less to cast, not even creature spells with no creature type. You'll be able to look at the top card of your library at the beginning of each of your upkeeps, but you can never put it into your hand this way, even if it's a creature card with no creature type.
  • The effect of Herald's Horn reduces only generic mana in a spell's cost. If that cost has no generic mana, the cost isn't reduced.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
  • You can't choose multiple creature types, such as "Cat Warrior." A Cat Warrior is both a Cat and a Warrior. It's affected by anything that affects either type and unaffected by things that affect non-Cat or non-Warrior creatures.
  • You must choose an existing creature type, such as Vampire or Cat. Card types such as "artifact" can't be chosen.
