AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Rumbling Ruin

Equivalent cards to Rumbling Ruin (red, interacts with +1/+1 counters, mass effect):

  • Warstorm Surge (red, impacts multiple creatures entering)
  • Hardened Scales (green, increases +1/+1 counters, but not red)
  • Subira, Tulzidi Caravanner (red, grants unblockable, but not dependent on counters)
  • Invigorating Surge (green, +1/+1 counters, not red)

Exact effect (+1/+1 counter synergy, red): Few true equivalents. Closest is Furious Rise (works with power 4+ creatures, red, card draw). Red rarely interacts with +1/+1 counters in bulk.

Reason: Red doesn’t often manipulate opponent blockers or +1/+1 counters in mass; Rumbling Ruin is unique here.

    Rules

  • Furious Rise's ability has you exile only one card, no matter how many creatures with power 4 or greater you control beyond the first.
  • Furious Rise's effect doesn't change when you can play the exiled card. For example, if you exile a sorcery card, you can cast it only during your main phase when the stack is empty. If you exile a land card, you can't play it unless you have land plays available.
  • If Furious Rise leaves the battlefield before you play the most recently exiled card, you can play that card for as long as it remains exiled.
  • If you don't control a creature with power 4 or greater as your end step begins, Furious Rise's ability doesn't trigger. If you don't control one as the ability resolves, it has no effect. It doesn't have to be the same creature at both times, however.
  • Playing an exiled card causes it to leave exile. You can't play it multiple times.

    Rules

  • If there are no +1/+1 counters on creatures you control as Rumbling Ruin’s ability resolves, creatures with power 0 or less can’t block this turn.
  • Once a creature with high enough power has blocked, changing the power of the blocking creature won’t remove the blocking creature from combat or cause the creature it blocked to become unblocked.
  • The number of +1/+1 counters among creatures you control is counted only as Rumbling Ruin’s ability resolves. The set of creatures that can’t block is constantly updated as their power changes, but the number against which their power is compared doesn’t change later in the turn, even if the number of +1/+1 counters among your creatures changes.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Haste

    Rules

  • If the target creature's power is greater than 2 as the first activated ability tries to resolve, the ability doesn't resolve. However, if instead the creature's power is raised above 2 after the ability resolves, it still can't be blocked that turn.
  • Once Subira's last ability resolves, check to see if the delayed triggered ability should trigger based on the power of the creatures immediately after damage is dealt, not based on their power as the ability resolves.
  • Once a creature with power 2 or less has been blocked, Subira's middle ability won't cause it to become unblocked.
  • You can activate Subira's last ability if your hand is empty. You simply discard zero cards.

    Rules

  • The creature that entered deals damage equal to its current power to the targeted permanent or player. If it's no longer on the battlefield, its last known existence on the battlefield is checked to determine its power.
  • Warstorm Surge is the source of the ability, but the creature is the source of the damage. The ability couldn't target a creature with protection from red, for example. It could target a creature with protection from creatures, but all the damage would be prevented. Since damage is dealt by the creature, abilities like lifelink, deathtouch and infect are taken into account, even if the creature has left the battlefield by the time it deals damage.
