  • Laelia, the Blade Reforged — Exiles cards from your library on attack, and you can play those cards that turn.

  • Any cards not cast, including land cards, remain in exile. They can't be cast on later turns, even if Etali attacks again.
  • Because all attacking creatures are chosen at once, a creature cast this way can't attack during the same combat as Etali, even if it has haste.
  • If an exiled card has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as the value of X when casting it without paying its mana cost.
  • If you cast a card "without paying its mana cost," you can't pay any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast the card.
  • If you cast any of the exiled cards, you do so as part of the resolution of the triggered ability. You can't wait to cast them later in the turn. Timing permissions based on a card's type are ignored, and the spells resolve before blockers are declared.
  • If you cast more than one of the exiled cards, you choose the order in which to cast them. A spell you cast this way can be the target of a later spell you cast this way. However, permanent spells cast this way won't resolve until you're done casting spells, so the permanents they become can't be the target of spells cast this way. For example, if you exile Twincast and Lightning Strike, you can cast Lightning Strike and then cast Twincast targeting it; but if you exile a creature card and an Aura card, you can't cast that Aura targeting that creature.
  • In a multiplayer game, if a player leaves the game, all cards that player owns leave as well. If you leave the game, any spells or permanents you control from Etali's ability are exiled.

    Rules

  • Cards exiled by Laelia, the Blade Reforged are exiled face up.
  • If a player is instructed to exile cards from their library "until" a certain event occurs (for example, because of the triggered ability of a spell with cascade or discover), that player exiles those cards one at a time. Laelia's last ability will trigger that many times.
  • If you play a card this way, it leaves exile and becomes a new object. If it returns to exile later in the turn, you can't play it again.
  • Laelia's last triggered ability doesn't care which player is exiling cards from the library or graveyard. Cards put into exile from your library or graveyard for any reason, such as the delve ability, cause the ability to trigger.
  • The last ability triggers only once for each time cards are put into exile from your library and/or graveyard, no matter how many cards were exiled at the same time.
  • You must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions while playing the exiled card. If it's a land, you can't play it unless you have land plays available.
  • You'll still pay all costs for a spell cast this way, including additional costs. You may also pay alternative costs if any are available.

    Rules

  • Although Doctor's companion is a new variant of the partner ability, the rules for partner have not otherwise changed. Notably, Time Lord Doctors and cards with Doctor's companion do not interact with cards which have another partner ability.
  • An effect that checks whether you control your commander is satisfied if you control one or both of your two commanders.
  • Both commanders start in the command zone, and the remaining 98 cards (or 58 cards in a Commander Draft game) of your deck are shuffled to become your library.
  • If something refers to your commander while you have two commanders, it refers to one of them of your choice. If you are instructed to perform an action on your commander (e.g. put it from the command zone into your hand due to Command Beacon), you choose one of your commanders at the time the effect happens.
  • If your Commander deck has two commanders, you can include only cards whose own color identities are also found in your commanders' combined color identities.
  • Once the game begins, your two commanders are tracked separately. If you cast one, you won't have to pay an additional {2} the first time you cast the other. A player loses the game after having been dealt 21 combat damage from any one of them, not from both of them combined.
  • The Doctor's companion ability allows you to have two commanders if one has the ability and the other is a legendary creature that is a Time Lord Doctor and has no other creature types. Creatures with the changeling ability, for example, can't be a second commander this way.
  • You cast the spell as part of the resolution of Ryan's triggered ability. You can't wait and cast the spell at a later time.
  • You may pay optional additional costs to cast that spell, such as kicker costs. If it has any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those.

Whenever Ryan attacks, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card. You may cast the exiled card without paying its mana cost if it's a spell with mana value less than or equal to Ryan's power. Put the exiled cards not cast this way on the bottom of your library in a random order. Doctor's companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)
