  • If you gain control of a permanent another player owns, and that player leaves the game, the permanent will also leave the game.
  • If you gain control of a permanent, and you leave the game, the control-changing effect will end. Unless there's another control-changing effect affecting that permanent, it will return to its owner's control.
  • The ability of Dack's emblem will resolve before the spell that caused it to trigger.
  • The effect of Dack's second ability and the effect of the emblem's ability last indefinitely. You won't lose control of the permanents if Dack leaves the battlefield.
  • The targeted player draws two cards and discards two cards all while Dack's first ability is resolving. Nothing can happen between the two, and no player may choose to take actions.

  • For the last ability, if you choose an artifact on the battlefield as the target, and that artifact is no longer on the battlefield as the ability tries to resolve, the ability won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t get any tokens. This is true even if the card that represented that artifact is now in a graveyard. That card will be a different object than it was on the battlefield.
  • For the second ability, you choose the target artifact or creature as you activate the ability. You choose whether to sacrifice an artifact and which artifact to sacrifice as the ability resolves.

  • A spell is historic if it has the legendary supertype, the artifact card type, or the Saga enchantment subtype. Having two of those qualities doesn't make a spell more historic than another or provide an additional bonus—a spell either is historic or it isn't.
  • An ability that triggers when a player casts a spell resolves before the spell that caused it to trigger. It resolves even if that spell is countered.

    Rules

  • If an effect copies a spell multiple times, as Finale of Promise may, Ral's first ability triggers that many times.
  • If the spell that's copied has damage divided as it was cast, the division can't be changed (although the targets receiving that damage still can). The same is true of spells that distribute counters.
  • If the spell that's copied is modal (that is, it says "Choose one —" or the like), the copy created by Ral's last ability will have the same mode or modes. You can't choose different ones.
  • Some spells instruct you to "copy target instant or sorcery spell." Because a spell is never a legal target for itself, you can't cast such a spell targeting itself to create a loop that causes Ral's first ability to trigger over and over.
  • The copies that Ral's last ability creates are created on the stack, so they're not "cast." Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won't trigger.
  • You can't choose to pay any additional costs for the copy created by Ral's last ability. However, effects based on any additional costs that were paid for the original spell are copied as though those same costs were paid for the copy too.
  • If an effect copies a card rather than a spell (such as that of God-Eternal Kefnet), this doesn't cause Ral's first ability to trigger. That ability will trigger if you cast the copy, however.

    Rules

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied permanent will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any “as [this permanent] enters the battlefield” or “[this permanent] enters the battlefield with” abilities of the chosen permanent will also work.
  • As Saheeli's last ability resolves, all three artifacts enter the battlefield at the same time. Triggered abilities of any of those artifacts will see all three entering the battlefield. Replacement effects, such as that of Sculpting Steel, won't see the others on the battlefield as they are being applied.
  • If the copied permanent has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If the copied permanent is a token, the token created with Saheeli copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created that token.
  • If the copied permanent is copying something else (for example, if the copied permanent is an Altered Ego), then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that permanent copied.
  • In a Two-Headed Giant game, Saheeli's first ability causes 2 damage total to be dealt to the opposing team.
  • The token copies exactly what was printed on the original permanent and nothing else (unless that permanent is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that permanent is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.
  • The token is an artifact in addition to its other types. This is a copiable value of the token that other effects may copy. Haste and the ability's delayed triggered ability aren't copiable.

+1 Scry 1. Saheeli Rai deals 1 damage to each opponent.
−2 Create a token that's a copy of target artifact or creature you control, except it's an artifact in addition to its other types. That token gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
−7 Search your library for up to three artifact cards with different names, put them onto the battlefield, thenshuffle

Saheeli, the Gifted #44 Legendary Planeswalker — Saheeli

  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of a copied artifact will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any "as [this artifact] enters the battlefield" or "[this artifact] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the artifact will also work.
  • If a copied artifact has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If a copied artifact is a token, the token that's created copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that created the token.
  • If a copied artifact is copying something else (for example, if the copied artifact is a Sculpting Steel), then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that artifact copied.
  • Saheeli's second ability reduces only generic mana in the cost of the next spell you cast.
  • The total cost to cast a spell is locked in before you pay that cost. For example, if you control three artifacts, including one you can sacrifice to add {C}, Saheeli's second ability will reduce the cost of a spell you cast by {3}. Then you can sacrifice the artifact when you activate mana abilities just before paying the cost, and it remains reduced by {3}.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Saheeli's second ability). The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
  • While resolving Saheeli's third ability, each token copies exactly what was printed on the original artifact and nothing else (unless that artifact is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that artifact is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its types, color, or so on.

+1 Create a 1/1 colorless Servo artifact creature token.
+1 The next spell you cast this turn has affinity for artifacts. (It costs less to cast for each artifact you control as you cast it.)
−7 For each artifact you control, create a token that's a copy of it. Those tokens gain haste. Exile those tokens at the beginning of the next end step. Saheeli, the Gifted can be your commander.
