"Find me cards equivalent to: See the Unwritten"

Equivalent cards to See the Unwritten (green, sorcery, puts creature(s) from library onto battlefield):

  • Summoning Trap — Can put a creature from top 7 into play at instant speed.
  • Genesis Wave — Puts any number of permanents with X or less CMC from top X into play.
  • Tooth and Nail — Searches your library for two creatures, puts them onto the battlefield (though it doesn't reveal from top).
  • Collected Company — Puts up to two creatures (CMC 3 or less) from top 6 into play (but is an instant).
  • Finale of Devastation — Searches library or graveyard for a creature and puts it into play.

Reason: All are green spells that cheat creatures from your deck onto the battlefield in some way. Some focus on top cards (like See the Unwritten), others search directly.

  • If a creature card in your library or graveyard has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If you don't find a creature card with mana value X or less, creatures you control still get +X/+X and gain haste if X is 10 or more.
  • No player may take action between the time you reveal which creature card you'll put onto the battlefield and the time it gets +X/+X and haste if X is 10 or more. Any abilities that trigger as it enters the battlefield will be put onto the stack after your creatures get +X/+X and haste.

  • A permanent card is an artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, land, or planeswalker card.
  • All of the permanents put onto the battlefield this way enter at the same time. If any have triggered abilities that trigger on something else entering, they'll see each other.
  • If a card in a player's library has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If a permanent card in your library has no mana symbols in its upper right corner (because it's a land card, for example), its mana value is 0. Such cards can always be put onto the battlefield with Genesis Wave.
  • If you have fewer than X cards in your library, you reveal all of them.
  • You don't have to put permanent cards revealed this way onto the battlefield if you choose not to, regardless of their mana values.

  • Because you’re not casting the creature cards, you can’t pay any additional or alternative costs. You can’t put the cards onto the battlefield face down.
  • Ferocious abilities of instants and sorceries that don’t use the word “instead” will provide an additional effect if you control a creature with power 4 or greater as they resolve.
  • If a card you put onto the battlefield this way has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • Some ferocious abilities that appear on instants and sorceries use the word “instead.” These spells have an upgraded effect if you control a creature with power 4 or greater as they resolve. For these, you only get the upgraded effect, not both effects.
  • You determine whether the ferocious ability applies before any creature cards are put onto the battlefield. If you put two creature cards onto the battlefield this way, those creatures enter the battlefield at the same time.

  • Casting a Trap by paying its alternative cost doesn't change its mana cost or mana value. The only difference is the cost you actually pay.
  • Effects that increase or reduce the cost to cast a Trap will apply to whichever cost you chose to pay.
  • If there are seven or fewer cards in your library, you'll look at all of them.
  • You may ignore a Trap's alternative cost condition and simply cast it for its normal mana cost. This is true even if its alternative cost condition has been met.
