AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Sorceress Queen

Equivalent cards to Sorceress Queen (black, tap to set a creature's power/toughness):
1. Willbreaker (Blue, not black, but similar effect when a creature's power/toughness is changed)
2. Magus of the Coffers (Black, but accelerates mana—functionally not the same)
3. Royal Assassin (Black, tap-to-destroy, but not change p/t)
4. Fatestitcher (Blue, tap/untap effect, still not p/t)

Closest black equivalents by effect:

  • Sudden Spoiling (Instant, sets creatures’ p/t to 0/2 until end of turn)
  • Polymorphist's Jest (Blue, again, but similar p/t setting for all creatures)

Short answer:
There are no direct black creature equivalents to Sorceress Queen that repeatably turn any creature's p/t down to 0/2. Use Sudden Spoiling for a one-shot, or Phyrexian Revoker for tap-down, though neither is exactly equivalent.

Reason:

Sorceress Queen has a unique repeatable tap ability in black. Closest are temporary p/t changing spells or unrelated tap abilities.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Unearth

    Rules

  • Activating a creature card’s unearth ability isn’t the same as casting the creature card. The unearth ability is put on the stack, but the creature card is not. Spells and abilities that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle) will interact with unearth, but spells and abilities that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul) will not.
  • At the beginning of the end step, a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth is exiled. This is a delayed triggered ability, and it can be countered by effects such as Stifle or Voidslime that counter triggered abilities. If the ability is countered, the creature will stay on the battlefield and the delayed trigger won’t trigger again. However, the replacement effect will still exile the creature when it eventually leaves the battlefield.
  • If a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth would leave the battlefield for any reason, it’s exiled instead — unless the spell or ability that’s causing the creature to leave the battlefield is actually trying to exile it! In that case, it succeeds at exiling it. If it later returns the creature card to the battlefield (as Oblivion Ring or Flickerwisp might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The unearth effect will no longer apply to it.
  • If you activate a card’s unearth ability but that card is removed from your graveyard before the ability resolves, that unearth ability will resolve and do nothing.
  • Unearth grants haste to the creature that’s returned to the battlefield. However, neither of the “exile” abilities is granted to that creature. If that creature loses all its abilities, it will still be exiled at the beginning of the end step, and if it would leave the battlefield, it is still exiled instead.

    Rules

  • Creatures that enter the battlefield or come under the target player’s control after Polymorphist’s Jest resolves won’t be affected.
  • Effects that modify a creature’s power and/or toughness, such as the effect of Titanic Growth, will apply to the creatures no matter when they started to take effect. The same is true for any counters that change their power and/or toughness and effects that switch power and toughness.
  • If one of the Theros block Gods is affected by Polymorphist’s Jest, it will be a legendary 1/1 blue Frog enchantment creature with no abilities. If it stops being a creature, perhaps because your devotion to its color(s) decreased, it will be a legendary blue enchantment with no abilities. The way continuous effects work, the God’s type-changing ability is applied before the effect that removes that ability is applied.
  • If one of the affected creatures gains an ability after Polymorphist’s Jest resolves, it will keep that ability.
  • Polymorphist’s Jest doesn’t counter abilities that have already triggered or been activated. In particular, there is no way to cast this spell to stop a creature’s ability that says “At the beginning of your upkeep,” “When this creature enters the battlefield,” or similar from triggering.
  • Polymorphist’s Jest overwrites all previous effects that set the creatures’ base power and toughness to specific values. Any power- or toughness-setting effects that start to apply after Polymorphist’s Jest resolves will overwrite this effect.
  • The creatures will lose all other colors and creature types, but they will retain any other card types (such as artifact) or supertypes (such as legendary) they may have.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • After a spell with split second resolves (or otherwise leaves the stack), players may again cast spells and activate abilities before the next object on the stack resolves.
  • Casting a spell with split second won't affect spells and abilities that are already on the stack.
  • If the resolution of a triggered ability involves casting a spell, that spell can't be cast if a spell with split second is on the stack.
  • Players may turn face-down creatures face up while a spell with split second is on the stack.
  • Players still get priority while a card with split second is on the stack; their options are just limited to mana abilities and certain special actions.
  • Split second doesn't stop triggered abilities from triggering, such as that of Chalice of the Void. If one does, its controller puts it on the stack and chooses targets for it, if any. Those abilities will resolve as normal.
  • Sudden Spoiling affects only creatures the target player controls at the time it resolves. Creatures they begin to control later in the turn won't change power and toughness or lose abilities.
  • Sudden Spoiling overwrites any effects that set a creature's power and toughness. Any existing effects or counters that raise, lower, or switch a creature's power and/or toughness continue to apply to the creature's newly-set power and toughness.
