Cards equivalent to Spoils of the Vault (instant, black, searches for named card with risk):
1. Plunge into Darkness – Instant, black. Lets you pay life to look at that many cards, choose one for your hand and exile others. Similar life-for-dig effect.
2. Burning Wish – Not an instant and not black, but gets a named card from your sideboard to hand.
3. Grisly Salvage – Not an instant, not black-only, mills until a creature/land is found.

Closest in function is Plunge into Darkness:
Instant (1B)
Pay any amount of life. Look at that many cards... put one into hand, rest into exile.
Both pay life for dig/exile-to-find.
